OntheNod Racing Podcast Tips up 33/1 winner of the Melbourne Cup
The race that stopped a nation took place in the early hours of the morning and we were delighted to have Sky Sports international racing expert Tom Carroll on the OntheNod Podcast for a very special preview of the Melbourne Cup.
The Australian is a well-respected racing journalist and certainly knows his stuff, as he proved once again when talking to the lads on the Podcast.
His first sentence when asked for his Melbourne Cup betting tips was “the horse I think is most over-priced is Twilight Payment”
“He ran very well in this race last year, only beaten four lengths and not much luck in running”.
Twilight Payment wins the Melbourne Cup
An unbelievable performance from Twilight Payment who has won the Lexus #MelbourneCup.

Ridden by Jye McNeil for the very first time, the Irish trained 7 year-old kicked away from second favourite Tiger Moth to land the big race. It means Joeseph O’Brien has won the race two years in a row and once again left his father to pick up second place.
The top 3 placings were completed by the Charlie Fellow’s trained Price of Aaron, another horse who was tipped by OntheNod Podcast special guest Tim Carroll.
There was sadness in the race though as 2019 derby winner Anthony Van Dyck suffered a life ending injury in the home straight. A real dampener for the O’Brien team despite brining home the Melbourne Cup top two.
Breeders Cup Tips
As well as our Melbourne Cup tips, the Podcast episode is also filled with this weekend’s Breeders Cup tips from Tim Carroll and you can listen to them all below.
You can fast forward the podcast to the 24.30 minute mark where the Breeders Cup preview starts and there are more betting tips advised from Tim Carroll as well as American racing tipster Paul Martin who makes his debut on the OntheNod Horse Racing Podcast.

Before that there is the Breeders Cup Turf where the likes of Magical, Lord North and Mogul are expected to fly the flag for Europe.
