Saturday’s Breeders Cup Card Betting Tips including the Classic and Turf
The Breeders Cup card continues tonight and there are five more selections, this time from Henry, starting with the 5.02pm race for Fillies and Mares.
The rest of the previewed races include the Turf Sprint, the Breeders Cup Turf and the big race of the meetings, the Breeders Cup Classic.
Last night saw Ant pick 33/1 and 6/1 winners from his four selections so we’re hoping for more winners tonight.
17:02 Keeneland
The 17:02 race is a race for the fillies and mares over 7f. It is not the most competitive renewals and I really like the favourite here.
The favourite is GAMINE NAP (6/4). Gamine was very impressive winning by a combination of 26 lengths on her second and third last starts. She then when to the Kentucky Oaks a strong favourite but could only manage third. That was over 1m1f and I think the trip stretched her that day. She now drops down in trip and I think she’ll resume winning ways.
17:39 Keeneland
The 17:39 race is the Turf Sprint over 5f and it’s going to be over in a flash. The American sprinters head the market and they have solid enough form in this wide open contest to merit respect.
However, I like the British raider here GLASS SLIPPERS (7/1). Glass Slippers has shown strong form all season winning the Group 1 Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot. I think he will be fine round the bend here because he has won at Chester in the past which is the closest comparison we get over on the UK shores. He may prefer the aa ground softer because he still has some strong form on fast ground and I don’t think much of the American form so I’m happy to play Glass Slippers at the price.
6:57 Keeneland
The 6:57 race is the Group 1 Fillies and Mares race on the turf over a distance of 1m2f. Peaceful will look to bounce back for the European team after a disappointing run last time out and O’Brien is expecting a bold bid.
However, I think she’ll have to be better than ever to beat my selection here and that is RUSHING FALL (3/1). Rushing Fall is a horse I like a lot and she hasn’t done a lot wrong of late. She has won her last three starts beating Mean Mary last time out who’s second favourite here. Rushing Fall has won every time she resumed after a layoff and she’s had a nice break before this. Tough to beat.
9.33 Keeneland
The Breeders Cup Turf is one of the most exciting races of the night and it’s a fascinating renewal. The Europeans look strong yet again and Magical heads the market. She bids to win her 8th Group 1 and is a worthy favourite on form.
However, the one I like here is the Dermot Weld filly TARNAWA (7/2) NB. Tarnawa has progressed well this season and appears to be getting better and better. She has shown strong form in France on her last two runs. Firstly, she beat Arc fifth Raabiyah comfortably before going on to win the Prix de L’Opera on Arc day. This trip will be no problem for her and Colin Keane takes the ride.

10:18 Keeneland
The big one comes up last and it’s the famous Breeders Cup Classic. It is a wide-open renewal and you wouldn’t put anyone off anything here.
The one I have landed on is IMPROBABLE (11/4). Bob Baffert has yet another strong line up in his bid to win another Breeders Cup Classic. The horse has won his last three starts, all in Grade 1s and has impressive speed figures on the clock. He holds Maximum Security on that latest start and I think he’ll prove tough to beat here.
