Saturday’s Horse Racing Tips – 5 Best Bets from Newmarket, Newcastle & Redcar

Newcastle horse racing tips

Saturday afternoon throws up race meetings across the UK and our weekend racing tips come from Newcastle, Newmarket and Redcar with the first due off at 12.15pm.

We will also have the five best bets of the evening meetings as well as a lucky 15 tip for the ITV racing so there are plenty of options around the site for this weekend’s racing selections.

Read our Saturday afternoon racing tips below including the reasons for each selection and the odds at the time of writing.

12.15pm Newcastle

My first tip is TILSLIT running in the 12.15 at Newcastle trained by Charlie Hills and ridden by Ben Curtis. He was unlucky not to win here over C&D on his debut 23 days ago only beaten by a head.  He is the one to beat here and I feel there is an improvement on the cards for him. In a field where most runners were beaten comfortably on debut. The son of First Defence should have the class to beat his rivals here.

1.50pm Newcastle

My second selection is in the 13.50 at Newcastle and my pick is MUBAKKER who won a C&D here 25 days ago. He is lightly raced for a 4-year-old and I feel he is ready for the step-up in class. With Sir Michael Stoute and Dane O’Neill they will look to add to MUBAKKER’S 3 wins in 5 runs. Brando will look to bounce back from a disappointing run in the Abernant Stakes at Newmarket 22 days ago. If he’s back to his best he will be the main threat to MUBAKKER. So he’s my selection.

2.15pm Redcar

Next up we have the 14.15 at Redcar in the Racing TV Extra Handicap and my tip was unlucky not to win here 9 days ago when 2nd of 13 in a handicap. That horse is MY BOY LEWIS ridden by Donald Tudhope and trained Roger Fell. On paper, this certainly looks winnable as he is going off the same mark as last week and with some rain expected to make the ground softer he is on the watch here.

3.15pm Newmarket

Now I will give my last two selections from Newmarket. First we have THUNDEROUS running in the 15.15 in the Betway Fairway Stakes (Listed). He is unbeaten in 3 starts as a 2-year-old and was last seen in August at Newbury over 7f. He is being upped in trip here to 1m 2f and he does like quicker ground so with that in mind I think he will go well here and he is one to watch and keep eye on for the future. He is in the capable hands of trainer Mark Johnston and jockey Ryan Moore.

4.25pm Newmarket

My last selection is PURE BEAUTY who is running in the 16.25 in the Betway Fillies’ Novice Stakes over 1m. She was a winner on her belated debut here 22 days ago. Winning over 7f. She will be suited to the increase in the trip and I feel that will go in her favour and I think she will continue to make up for lost time on the track. The only downfall is the 17lbs she is giving to her rivals here but I feel with the extra furlong. She still has strong claims. Her main challenger will be Award Scheme in my eyes with Ryan Moore on board But with Frankie Dettori on the mount for PURE BEAUTY, you wouldn’t wish for anyone differently to try and get the job done.
