2:20 Salisbury

The 2:20 race is the feature race at Salisbury on the card and it is a Listed contest over 1m2f.

The horse I like is QUEEN POWER who ran a cracker at Goodwood finishing 4th in a Group 1. That is the best form on offer in this line-up. She continues to improve like a typical Sir Michael Stoute horse and Stoute is in red hot form at the moment. The ground should hold no fears for her and the trip is ideal.

Other horses that catch the eye are Award Scheme who is progressing well and Gold Wand who has useful form to her name.

2:50 Salisbury

The 2:50 race is fillies handicap over the 1m4f distance. It is a wide open betting heat and market moves should be noted.

The horse I like is KEPALA (NAP). This is a horse I’ve been keeping a close eye on and I’ve been encouraged which her progression with each start. KEPALA just missed out last time out beaten a short head by Dubious Affair of the Charlie Fellowes team who was thriving at the time. I think she can progress again and trainer Eve Johnson Houghton thinks a lot of her.

3:20 Salisbury

The 3:20 race is a Class 4 contest over the 1m4f distance.

The horse I like is WITHOUT A FIGHT (NB) for the Simon and Ed Crisford team. After a promising first run finishing third he went two better in winning his latest start in an encouraging manor. He now steps up in trip which will bring out further improvement and the team’s horses are running well at the moment operating at a 17% strike rate over the last 14 days.

3:50 Salisbury

My next selection comes in the 3:50 contest which is a handicap over the 6f distance.

The horse I like is TUSCAN OASIS. Clive Cox is in fine form at the moment and I expect him to continue to being improvement out of this filly. She won in gutsy style from the front last time showing a willing attitude. That was her handicap debut and she can scope to improve again off this current mark. It doesn’t appear the strongest of races and I think her price is more than fair in this contest.

4:20 Salisbury

The next selection comes in the 4:20 contest which is a 1m handicap contest and it appears wide open with it being 5/1 the field.

The horse for me is FITZROVIA E/W. This horse trained by Ed Giles who is having a fine season was disappointing on his comeback run but I’m expecting him to improve for that now. He was keen there and hopefully that has took the freshness out of him for this next start. The horse won two decent little races last season on soft ground and I think he can make his mark this year in these sort of races off his current handicap mark. The forecast rain won’t harm his chances.
