Friday’s Card

The juveniles take center stage on Friday and Sky Sports Racing are showing six of them here in the UK, starting at 5.40pm. A couple of Tim’s selections are below but the rest are all on the Podcast above.

Breeders Cup Juvenile Turf (8.10pm)

There have been eight European winners of this race and at the time of writing, Battleground for the Aidan O’Brien team is a 5/1 chance. He did open up as favourite but that is now Mutasaabeq at 4/1. Tim Carroll thinks the Jessica Harrington runner CADILLAC stands a good chance here, getting better ground to make use of his turn of foot. There is good form in the book beating Van Gogh before he went on to win a Group 1 in France.

Tim also likes one of the bigger prices in this field for an each-way bet and you can listen to that 10/1 tip at 28.00minutes on the Podcast link above.

Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (9.30pm)

This looks like a battle between the top two in the market with Wesley Ward’s Campanelle on the drift slightly at 11/2, and the strong favourite Aunt Pearl. The favourite is 2 from 2 and brings good form into the race but this will be her toughest task to date. Campanelle won the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot before backing that up with a win in the Prix Morny at Deauville.

Tim Carroll’s Saturday Breeders’ Cup Tips

There is more Grade 1 action on Saturday evening and no less than nine races are being shown live on Sky Sports Racing. The feature race is the Breeders Cup classic which concludes the card but before that there is high class action with some of the top European horses making the trip over to Keenland.

Breeders Cup Dirt Mile (6.18pm)

This is the type of race that Tim Carroll specialises in and his knowledge of American racing is invaluable for these dirt races, especially for European punters who are not used to seeing horses race on this type of surface. Tim does have a selection in this one in the market currently headed by Complexity at 5/2. His selection can be found on the Podcast where he is taking on the favourite with a horse that posted a Timeform figure of 129 last time out.

Get Tim’s tip for this one at 36.30seconds on the OntheNod Podcast link.

Breeders Cup Filly & Mares Turf (6.57pm)

The next race on Saturday’s Breeders’ Cup card is the Filly and Mare turf and despite their being some strong opposition from this side of the Atlantic, Tim Carroll has gone for the current favourite RUSSIAN FALL as his strong selection here. She is 11 from 14, winning her last three and two of them races were Grade 1s. She has course form having won at Keenland before and has never been beaten off a layoff.

For the European challengers, Peaceful represents the Aidan O’Brien team and Cayenne Pepper will be a popular selection for Irish punters after her win in the Group 2 Moyglare.

Breeders Cup Mile (8.15pm)

The Breeders Cup Mile is the race where the European’s have some big guns going over to America for it. Kameko is the current 4/1 favourite and Siskin is a 10/1 shot. Uni is very well fancied for the home team and will likely shorten in the betting closer to the off.

Tim Carroll’s Breeders Cup Mile betting tip is a double-figure price for an each-way bet and his reasons sound well justified.

Listen to the Cup Mile preview from 43minutes where there is a very long discussion surrounding one of the European raiders, with differing opinions from the panel.

Breeders Cup Turf (9.33pm)

This looks to be the race of the night on Sky Sports Racing and Magical heads the betting at 11/4. Mogul is a 7/2 chance and Tarnawa is around the same price. The European’s have a good record in this race and a very strong hand here, with Lord North sure to be a popular selection as well at odds of 7/1.

Tim Carroll’s Breeders Cup Tuft tip is TARNAWA, who should go well on the firm surface and a mile and a half trip should be ideal for him at Keenland.

Breeders Cup Classic (10.18pm)

The feature race of the meetings is run on the dirt and this is a race where you need the expert opinions of somebody like Tim Carroll.

It looks a wide open race this one with Improbable currently the 5/2 favourite ahead of Tiz The Law. The winners of all three Triple Crown Races line-up here.

You can listen to Tim Carroll’s Breeders Cup Classic preview and betting tip from 59 minutes.
