Today’s Best Racing Tips from the Evening Cards at Curragh and Lingfield

Horse racing betting tips

After a quite remarkable four wins and a second from his 5 selections yesterday, Henry (follow him on Twitter) is back with 5 more racing tips for today including your on the Irish Derby card at the Curragh.

There were quite a few people in our Horse Racing Whatsapp Group waiting for the fifth horse to win yesterday to pocket over £1,000 and but for a tough passage which saw the rider have to switch to the other side of the course, we would have had a clean sweep of five winning tips.

Today’s Racing Tips

See today’s selections below and don’t forget to join our horse racing group on Whatsapp.

4.45 Curragh

The 4:45 race is a trappy little Group 3 contest over the 1m2f distance. Sir Dragonet ran well at Royal Ascot finishing second and heads the market here at 6/5. It is proven he struggles to get his head in front and I’m happy to chance BUCKHURST 2/1 here to get the better of him.

Buckhurst is likely to be up near the pace and can hopefully get first run on Sir Dragonet here and see him off. Buckhurst was just touched off on his season opener beaten a nose and that should set him up nicely for the rest of the season starting here.

5.45 Curragh

The 5.45 race is a Listed contest over the 1m distance. Ancient Spirit heads the market but I like BOWERMAN 9/2 here. Bowerman was a going away winner of the Irish Lincoln last time out and didn’t go unbacked which suggests a big run was expected. He looks ready to step out of handicap company and this Course and Distance winner is the value here.

6.15 Curragh

The 6:15 race is a very competitive handicap over the 7f distance. I like ICE COLD IN ALEX 6/1 EW here. This horse made a very encouraging comeback run last time out finishing a never nearer 4th here at the Curragh. He is a previous course and distance winner that will have no issues with the ground. He is proven to have the class to win a race like this several times running well in similar races and has a solid chance here at 6/1.

7.15 Curragh

The eagerly awaited Irish Derby comes up at 7:15 and Aiden O’Brien saddles the two market leaders with Santiago 3/1 and Arthur’s Kingdom 9/2 The unbeaten Crossfirehurricane 6/1 for Aidens son Joseph is a fascinating contender too.

I like one at a bigger price and that is trained by Aiden’s younger son Donnacha O’Brien who has just started his training career. That horse is SHERPA 11/1 EW. Sherpa ran very well last time out finishing third behind Crossfirehurricane in the Gallinule staying on strongly at the end of the race. I feel this son of Galileo will have learned an awful lot from that run and he will definitely improve for the step up in trip here which may not be the case for some of the other market principals.

5.25 Lingfield

My final selection comes back on UK shores in the 5.25 at Lingfield. This is a Class 5 handicap over the 6f distance.

I like TABAAHY 3/1 here. Tabaahy has been running consistently well throughout the year staying on strongly to finish a close 3rd here last time out over 5f. This step up to 6f should help and Oisin Murphy gets the leg up in what doesn’t look the strongest of contests.
