Today’s Horse Racing Tips for ITV Racing on Sunday 26th July
We are back at Ascot and York for coverage of Eight Live races including the Group 1 Tattersalls Gold Cup at Curragh and I will be giving my tips and previews for these races.
There are no less than eight races on the ITV Racing card this Saturday, so you’ll need some free bets to spend and the 888Sport through the card offer is perfect.
Here’s what you need to do:
2 Bet £10 on the 1.55pm race at Ascot
3 You will get SEVEN free bets to spend on the rest of the races today
First up we have the Play Nifty Fifty Exclusively At Betfred Handicap over 5f and my selection is MAGIC J who is on top form coming into this race after winning over 5f at Sandown 10 days ago. He has responded well to headgear and still merits the upmost respect after going up 8lbs for this but the booking of Oisin Murphy again is a big plus for connections to get the job done for them. Mountain Peak will be the main danger here who is arriving here in great form who won a Handicap at Haydock and was second when last seen here over C&D 2 weeks ago. He is 7lbs higher but should progress again. Bomb proof is two from two and remains with Potential. Tone The Barone is down to a good mark and could be a E/W shot.
In the Sky Bet Daily Price Boosts Handicap I like the look of PRESIDENTIAL for Ben Curtis and trainer Roger Fell. He may have had a quiet 2019 on the winning side of things but won back in June at Doncaster, was a good 6th in the Royal Hunt Cup at Ascot and followed that success up with a place at Newmarket 16 days ago. He is at a good mark for this and has claims. Dancing Vega is making her handicap debut and is wearing a hood and is a workable mark. Get Knotted is 3 time C&D winner here and will look to progress after a poor run here last week over C&D. ALEMARATALYOUM has claims for a place.
Next up we have the Betfred ‘Fred’s Pushes’ Handicap (Class 2) (3yo Plus) and I like the look of ALMANIA for Ryan Moore and David Simcock. He was winless in 2019 for Sir Michael Stoute but did have creditable runs. He has placed in his last two runs both of them being here. He is dropping down in trip and and for me can be a serious contender. Country is the current market favourite for William Haggas has been given a 4lb rise after winning last time out at Newmarket. He stands a good chance to progress again. Dal Horrisgle is a good E/W bet currently at 8/1. Dash of Spice is another who steps back down in trip and has claims for a place.
My Tip for the Sky Bet Extended Dash Handicap over 6f is SOLDIER’S MINUTE who is a C&D winner last season and didn’t show full capability in the Wokingham. He’s got that out the way and is on a big mark but is due a big race and I feel he has a great chance to be involved here. Camacho Chief is another who can get claims here. Jonah Jones is at a good mark of 9st 3lbs for Frankie Dettori and this run could be what is needed for him to show his potential. Golden Apollo is one to watch in the market and is a E/W bet. Also the same with George Bowen.

In the big race of the day The(Group 1 Tattersalls Golden Cup the one to beat is MAGICAL(NAP) who is a class operator. She won 3 Group 1’s last year and wiped the floor with her rivals when last seen here over C&D 28 days ago. This will be harder but I still feel she has too much class and is my leading contender for this race. BuckHurst is one to watch in this and can progress further. Armory is stepping up in trip after 4th to Siskin in the Irish Guineas at the course 44 days ago and he is a course winner. Leo De Fury for Jessica Harrington will look to claim a place and will need to step up with a big performance if he is to win at this level.
Billesdon Brook is the big name in the Betfred Valiant Fillies’ Stakes (Group 3) (Rnd) but it is a horse who blows hot and cold. She was beaten by the neck of Nazeef in The Tattersalls Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket 16 days ago. She could be the one to beat here but I am going for AGINCOURT for David O’ Meara and Ryan Moore. She has improved again this year running Nazeef close in the Duke of Cambridge Stakes at Ascot in June. Connections will have worked on her performance after her last outing at Newmarket where she was 5th from 6 but wasn’t beaten by much. Miss O’ Connor is 3 from 3 in Britain and has had some time off the track and could place. LOOK AROUND at 20/1 could give Andrew Balding a good performance and is one to watch in the market.
In the second last race of the day on ITV the British Stallion Studs EBF Lyric Fillies’ Stakes (Listed)
FRANCONIA (NB) for John Gosden and Frankie Dettori will be looking to carry on her good form after winning at Newbury 43 days ago beating Cabaletta by 4L and I feel with take a lot to stop here. The Daughter of Frankel has a lot to like and with John Gosden winning this last year with Fanny Logan you’d have to fancy him doing it again. Gold Wand will be the danger after dropping back down in trip for this and brushing aside Portrush in June but I feel FRANCONIA will have the edge here.
My Last Selection is ISABELLA GILES for Clive Cox and Adam Kirby on board. She is 2 from2 after winning at Leicester and Newbury and can add the Princess Margaret Betfred Stakes to that record and have the chance of claiming a hat trick. I feel she can progress again and at 8/1 she holds good value and is my bet. The Danger will be Caroline Dale with Hollie Doyle on board is returning to 6f and will look to run another big race. Same with Santosha for David Loughnane who also has Caroline Dale running for him. More Beautiful will be hoping to return to form after a poor showing in the Queen Mary Stakes.
