Today’s Horse Racing Tips – The 5 Best Bets for Thursday 2nd July
There is more horse racing action today and Henry has picked out his best 5 bets for the meetings at Wolverhampton, Bellewstown and Catterick.
You can see the racing tips for today’s meetings below and also a couple of free bet bonuses you can use including this Ladbrokes £30 sign-up offer which means you get 3 free £10 bets once you bet £10 on a race today.
The 5pm race is a Class 4 handicap over 5f. I like MAGIC J 11/4 here for the Ed Vaughan team. Magic J is the most unexposed horse in the line-up and this return to 5f looks the ideal move for him to get in the winners’ enclosure. He ran well last time out taken a keen hole before weakening in the final furlong. That was over 6f so 5f looks perfect and Oisin Murphy takes the ride.
The 9pm race is a Class 5 Maiden Stakes over 1m4f.
The horse I like is LABEEBB 5/4 who was very eye catching on his debut finishing third doesn’t his best work late on. This step up in trip looks the right move and the Crisford team will be expecting the necessary improvement from his debut to step up and win here.
The 3.00 race here is a hot fillies maiden race over the 7f distance.
Aiden O’Brien newcomer Finest heads the market but I prefer the Ger Lyons newcomer TALACRE 6/4 here. She is a half-sister to the stable superstar Siskin and appeals as the type to be a very forward 2-year-old. The team know how to ready one first time out and she has some fancy race entries which suggests her homework must be strong.
The 2.20 race is a Class 6 handicap over 7f and recent winner House Deposit heads the market at 2/1 for the Declan Carroll team.
I prefer one at bigger odds and that is THE BIG HOUSE 4/1 for the Adrian Nicholls team. The Big House is a course and distance winner and came third on his only other career start round the track. Useful 5lb claimer Thore Hammer Hansen takes 5lb off and I’m hopeful he can get the house settled in the early stages before bringing him through the pack off the likely strong pace.
The 4.25 race is a Class 6 handicap over 1m4f and it appears a wide-open betting market.
The horse I like here is the Tim Easterby trained BOULEVARD BEAUTY 4/1 who ran a very good race in his first handicap last time out. After three average runs in maidens over 7f he was stepped up to 1m6f for his first handicap start which suggests he was always going to be one for the handicaps. The horse led until the 2f pole there before weakening late on which suggests this 1m4f trip could be perfect for him. The race doesn’t appear a strong one and the winner of his last race has went on and won again since which can only be a positive.
