Brazil vs Mexico Betting Tips and Predictions

I don’t know about you but I’m so glad the Confederation’s Cup is on this summer or I'd be forced to spend my evenings watching Eastenders or some other mundane soap, so I’m embracing this tournament with open arms.

Hosts Brazil are starting to play under Big Phil like the Brazil of old we all used to know and love, especially at home. Their opening group A game against Japan ended in a 3-0 win with the unpredictable Neymar scoring a quality goal early on which set up the comfortable win. Big Phil has said he is starting with an unchanged side meaning my pick for top goalscorer of the competition Fred will get the chance to open his account, along with the other obvious attacking threat from Neymar, Oscar, Hulk and Paulinho this will be a tough game for Mexico.

Match Odds:

Mexico put in a decent performance against the Italians but they will need to perform better at the back if they are to keep out the Brazilians. The Balotelli winner saw Mexico fall to their first defeat in 14 games and they will need to improve if they hope to get something out of this game if they want to progress in the tournament.  Chicharito will be the Mexicans main threat along with Giovani Dos Santos and they will be hoping to expose Brazil’s weakness… their defence. With Brazil’s natural attacking nature they all like to get forward which leaves holes at the back that they must expose to get something from this game.

Last time these two sides met Mexico beat Brazil 2-1 at the Olympics but I think Big Phil Scolari has moved this team on and they have improved a lot in 12 months.

Both teams to score appeals in this game at 37/40 with BetVictor as does Over 2.5 goals but at 4/6 the odds aren’t the best.

As for goal scorers, I think Fred is a good shout at 11/8 anytime to get back on the goal trail after drawing a blank in his last 2. Oscar has looked very impressive and his odds of 11/4 with Coral look generous, Hernandez also appeals also at 11/4 with PaddyPower.
