After winning their 20th Premier League title last season, Manchester United are once again favourites to win the Premier League in 2013/14.

There has been a changing of the guard at Manchester United already this summer with David Moyes replacing Sir Alex Ferguson at the helm, but that hasn’t stopped all the bookmakers making them favourites for the crown next season. Betway are currently offering the best price at 11/5.

Their arch rivals Manchester City are next in the betting at a top price 12/5 with Coral and cannot be dismissed with the seemingly bottomless transfer pot at their disposal, despite currently not having a manager.

Chelsea are the most interesting in the outright betting for the 2013/14 Premier League title and could be worth a punt at 5/2 given that the special one is on his way back to Stamford Bridge. Jose Mourinho has confirmed he will be the Chelsea manager next season and giving the backing from Abramovic, he could spend big, and spend well.

The best of the rest are Arsenal (14/1 with Ladbrokes), Liverpool (28/1 with Bet365) and Tottenham (33/1 with Coral).

So once again the title race is set to be a three horse race and the summer dealings are going to be as important as ever for Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea. If City and Chelsea spend with the buying power they are capable of David Moyes could have a difficult start to his Manchester United reign, don’t expect them to run away with the Premier League like they did in 2012/13.

Chelsea and Manchester City will be under new guidance and the Jose Mourinho factor back at Stamford Bridge could be the inspiration they need to mount a serious challenge. At the back end of last season the likes of Oscar, Mata and Hazard really found their feet in the English top flight and with Frank Lampard on board for another season, plus the expected addition of a world class forward, Chelsea could be the main challengers to Manchester United’s crown.
