Action from the National League divisions dominate this Tuesday Accumulator with struggling teams Ebbsfleet and Chorley set to face demanding games on the road at Dover and Harrogate respectively. In the South division, league leaders Wealdstone travel to lowly St Albans while decent home team Welling welcome Eastbourne. The final selection involves EFL Trophy action with Coventry set to extend the current woes of League Two opponents Walsall.
A 2-0 win at Harrogate on Saturday ensured that Dover have won all four away games in National League action this season but their home form is more of a concern. Three 2-1 defeats have been incurred and Dover were fortunate to beat Wrexham when beating ten players via a last minute own goal winner. Ebbsfleet will visit the South Coast on Tuesday evening and they have won just once this term when beating Boreham Wood 2-1 with the hosts suffering a sending-off after just two minutes. The Fleet sustained a sixth defeat in eight matches on Saturday and it is possible that Dover could win a first home game in three attempts.
Following a relatively successful National League campaign last term, it has been a mixed start to the 2019-20 season for Harrogate and they have failed to find the net in four of eight matches. However, the North Yorkshire team now host a Chorley outfit struggling to cope with life in the fifth tier. The Magpies have claimed just one point from their last five fixtures with twenty goals conceded including nine in their last two away matches. Poor defending contributed to a 3-1 home defeat at the weekend and they are facing another loss at Harrogate.
With just one victory earned from their first eight National League South games when recently beating Concord Rangers 2-1 on home soil, it has not been the best of starts to a season for St Albans. The Saints now host league leaders Wealdstone with the visitors winning their last six league matches and after losing 1-0 at Dulwich Hamlet. At least three goals have been netted by Wealdstone in four of those six victories and they should be capable of beating their struggling hosts.
Although they occupy a mid-table berth in National League South division, Welling have won three of their four home matches at Park View Road and scored seven goals in winning their last two games at the venue. Welling now welcome an Eastbourne outfit which has failed to win in four attempts on the road this season with no goals scored. Borough also recently suffered a 5-0 loss at Braintree.
After winning 1-0 at Northampton on the opening day of their League Two campaign, Walsall have failed to claim another competitive victory with just one point earned from their last four fixtures. The Saddlers slumped to a 3-1 home defeat on Saturday despite netting a very early opening goal and now travel to St Andrews for this EFL Trophy tie. League One team Coventry have won all four games at their current home venue with just one goal conceded and they have yet to taste defeat in league action this term. Another loss is looming for Walsall.
