Aston Villa are seemingly back on track after a disappointing period. They are brimming with confidence ahead of this clash at Villa Park with the Canaries. The hosts have won five of the last six keeping five clean sheets in that run and have conceded just a single goal since the 20th of Feb when losing to Newcastle. Villa should be a force to be reckoned with next season under the savvy Steve Bruce and the Geordie boss should be able to continue his side’s winning run here. Norwich are missing Mitchell Dijks for this clash and are still searching for their new boss. Alan Irvine is still in charge and he doesn’t have a good record at this level. Their away form has been poor with just two points from a possible twelve on the road.
Ipswich have been the kings of BTTS recently. Mick McCarthy’s side ended a run of 1-1s with a 3-1 defeat to Cardiff last time out but have the opportunity to get back to winning ways here. Ipswich have only failed to score once since the end of January and are likely to find a way past a generous Birmingham defence. It doesn’t get much better for Gianfranco Zola whose win percentage is pretty low at Birmingham since replacing Gary Rowett. The Italian has stopped the losing run with back to back draws. They have landed BTTS in each of their last three away matches scoring at Cardiff, Wolves and Preston.
Huddersfield were battered 4-0 by Bristol City at Ashton Gate before the International break and must bounce back here. The Terriers were affected by the stoppage following the dreadful injury to midfielder Jonathon Hogg and never got back on track after that. In West Yorkshire, they’ve been very effective this season and recently beat an in-form Villa side and have seen off Reading, Leeds and Brighton here this campaign. Burton defended terribly in their 5-3 defeat to Brentford and whilst I’m expecting Nigel Clough to have improved matters at the back, they could be susceptible here. The Brewers are still in trouble with Clough admitting they blew a good chance against the Bees.
