With the Premier league season just over 5 weeks away, the transfer window open & our excitement levels rising. It's time to look at which teams might not be so full of anticipation in 12 months time.
Never in the history of the Premier League has a post season seen so many changes with managers, Staff & players all moving on to pastures new or old in some cases (Jose). It will be one of the most difficult seasons to predict ever. However here at thatsagoal.com we will try!
Now Crystal Palace have somehow got theirselves back to the promised land of the Premier League. Don't get me wrong, they are there on merit as all teams promoted are. The Championship is a horrible league to try and escape, so fair play to all 3 teams coming up.
But I really really worry for Palace in this upcoming season. I like Holloway and would love to see him succeed, but Palace scraped into the playoffs thanks to a last minute winner against the now relegated Peterborough on the last day of the season. They then played well to beat Brighton over 2 legs and then held Watford for 105 minutes at wembley before a Kevin Phillips penalty in extra time gave them the goal that would take them up, a remarkable turn of events you may agree.
Palace only won 1 of their last 10 games in the Championship & and that was the fore mentioned win against Peterborough on the last day of the season. A run like this in the Premier League and well, it'd be curtains.
I am not trying to give them a hard time, but looking at the other teams coming up, Hull & Cardiff, they would seem much more prepared, Hull have a proven experienced Premier League Manager & Cardiff have a good squad already with money behind them for further summer deals.
Add this to the fact Crystal Palaces best Player, Zaha, is no longer their player, and doubts that even Kevin Phillips will be playing for them again next season it really doesn't look good for them at all.
And it seems the bookies are of a similar opinion with Crystal Palace to be relegated a best price of 4/7 with Coral but If you are looking for a bit more value you can get 11/4 for Crystal Palace to finish bottom with Stan James, which to be honest, I think they will.
Crystal Palace – 4/7 with Coral
Crystal Palace to finish bottom of the table – 11/4 with Stan James
