Arsenal and Valencia are two of the biggest most successful teams in their respective countries. With 52 major trophies between them, this is a massive game. There are other implications though as both sides are currently sitting outside Champions League Places in their domestic leagues. Arsenal sit in 5th in the Premier League whilst Valencia are 6th in La Liga. This may well be the only way into next year’s Champions League for the semi-finalists, adding even more tension to the game.

Both sides had a fairly tough quarter final fixture before they reached this stage. Arsenal did a fantastic job of beating Napoli at the San Paolo to qualify, whereas Valencia beat league rivals Villarreal over the two legs.

It is well known that Arsenal are in a sticky patch of form. With three losses in a row, Arsenal really need to start winning to finish their season strongly, hopefully by winning a European trophy and qualifying for the Champions League. However, we’re backing a home win for our Arsenal vs Valencia predictions here, after their dominant display against Napoli in the quarter finals. Manager Unai Emery will have a good idea of how Valencia will line-up here from his days in Spain.

Valencia have lost their last two games in La Liga. This also seems like their best bet to qualify for the Champions League. They have been performing well in the Europa League however. Beating Villarreal 5-1 on aggregate was an excellent performance and they will be hoping to carry that on. Goncalo Guedes has been in great form, scoring four in their last six.

Arsenal can be proud with their last few Europa league performances, beating Napoli over the two legs including the away fixture, becoming only the second team to beat Napoli at their home stadium this season. Alexandre Lacazette was on target in the quarter final and I’m backing him to score in this one. Lacazette to score anytime is best odds 17/10 at Coral.
