Spain vs Sweden Predictions and Betting Tips: Euro 2020 Qualifier

Euro 2020 qualifying predictions

Spain vs Sweden go head to head in a Group F Euro 2020 qualifier on Monday 10th June at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. Both sides arrive here full of confidence and on a decent run of form. Sweden have already qualified the play-offs, and this will allow them an element of freedom. Luis Enrique’s side haven’t been at their free-flowing best despite winning four in a row, will they continue their winning steak here? You can see our betting tips and predictions below.

Spain vs Sweden Preview

Kick Off Time: 7:45pm

Date: Monday 10th June 2019

Competition: Euro 2020 Qualifiers

Venue: Estadio Santiago Bernabeu (Madrid)

Group F has been on the most entertaining sections so far, and this Monday night meeting between the top two teams should be a cracker. Sweden have bounced back from their losing streak with four wins and a draw from their last five encounters, and were convincing winners against Malta in Solna on Friday night. Janne Andersson’s men have been very efficient in recent months, and they have a number of very talented individuals in the squad. The likes of Robin Quaison and Viktor Claesson have been in tremendous form lately, and the pair are likely to both be given starts here, even though the Swedes have already bagged their place play-off place. Andersson isn’t the sort of manager who lets his players take it easy, and they will be well-drilled ahead of this encounter in Madrid. Spain beat the Faroe Islands 4-1 earlier in the week, and although there haven’t been many vintage performances from Luis Enrique’s men recently, they have been scoring goals. Their defence has looked far from assured recently however, and they’ve kept just a single clean sheet in their three qualifiers so far.

Spain Team News

Luis Enrique must decide whether to rotate his goalkeepers once again. Kepa Arrizabalaga was preferred for the game against the Faroe Islands, and with David de Gea lacking in confidence, he may continue his stint between the sticks.

Marco Asensio could return to the XI here, which would result in the rejuvenated Santi Cazorla dropping to the bench. Isco, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba will all be hoping for game-time in this encounter. Sergio Ramos is likely to be one of the first names on the team-sheet.

Sweden Team News

Janne Andersson is unlikely to make too many changes to his starting XI as the Swedes have been playing well lately. He is the kind of manager who isn’t famed for his tinkering, although he could be tempted to bring AIK’s Seb Larsson into the fold in order to make his side tougher to break down.

Robin Quaison is likely to be given another start, although Marcus Berg will also be hoping to feature in some capacity in the Spanish capital.

Spain vs Sweden – Who is a good anytime goalscorer bet?

Although there are a litany of quality attacking players on the pitch, it could be best to have a look at Sergio Ramos to find the net in this fixture. The experience and divisive defender has been in excellent goalscoring form for his country recently, and could easily add to his tally in this one.

He’s netted in two of their three Euro 2020 qualifiers, and the fact that he is only 3/1 to repeat the trick suggests that the bookies have been relatively tentative with their pricing here.

It may take a set-piece to get past Sweden’s defence, and don’t be surprised to see Ramos pop up and nod home in very familiar surroundings.

Sergio Ramos is priced at 3/1 with Coral to score at any time in this one and that’s the first of today’s Spain vs Sweden predictions.

What is the best betting tip for Spain vs Sweden?

This could be one of the most entertaining games on Monday night’s fixture list. Despite qualifying for the play-offs, Sweden should play their part in an end-to-end tie, and I’m expecting a few goals as a result. Seven of Spain’s last nine games in all competitions have featured three or more goals, and although they beat Sweden’s near-neighbours 2-1 at this ground earlier in the qualifying process.

Sweden conceded three times in Oslo, and although they are generally tough to beat and break down, they are often a little more susceptible on their travels.

Over 2.5 Goals looks like a decent bet in this game, and it’s available at 3/4 with Ladbrokes.
