With the season rapidly drawing to a close, things are getting serious at both ends of the table as everyone desperately looks for points. The Football League has little resolved and this 5-fold covers the Championship and League 1, with odds of just under 27/1 available.

BRIGHTON to beat Leicester 7/5: Two teams both desperately hoping to pick up points to aid their play-off push go head to head. Brighton currently sit 6th and are by no means secure in a play-off position. They have been very impressive at home this season with nine wins and they are unbeaten at The Amex in their last seven. Leicester’s play-off hopes have taken a severe hit of late and they haven’t won in their last seven. They are also without a win in their last six on the road. Brighton’s play-off hopes will take a huge boost if they take advantage of flailing Leicester.

DERBY to beat Ipswich 21/20: Three wins in a row has given Derby County an outside chance of reaching the play-offs and they will be looking to continue that against Ipswich. Derby’s 10th place position is built on strong home form, at Pride Park they’ve lost just three times this season. They take on an Ipswich side who have pulled away from the drop zone of late. However this has mostly been down to good form at Portman Road. The Tractor Boys are without a win in seven on the road and Derby should see them off to increase their slim play-off hopes.

HULL to beat Middlesbrough 5/6: In 2nd in the league, Hull know a win against Boro would go a long way to taking them up to the Premier League. Hull have lost their last two at home but that was against fellow promotion rivals Watford and Forest but they have been playing well, beating Burnley and Huddersfield recently. Before the two recent home defeats they had won four on the spin at the KC and should return to that form against Middlesbrough who have had a torrid 2013. Boro have won just twice in fifteen matches in 2013. They haven’t won on the road since the start of December and have lost eight of their last nine away from home. Hull should carry on their promotion push with a big win over Middlesbrough.

BOURNEMOUTH to beat Notts County 4/7: Five wins in a row make Bournemouth the form team in League One and they are bearing down on league leaders Doncaster. The five wins are paired with two wins in a row at home and will be looking to add a third on Saturday. They take on a Notts County side with just one win in their last seven and also no wins in their last seven on the road. Bournemouth have been up at the top of the league all season and a win over Notts County could take them a step closer to the Championship.

DONCASTER to beat Tranmere 19/20: Donny have lost just two of their last eight and won five and will be looking to secure their place at the top of the league. At home Doncaster have also just two of their last eight and won four, putting them in a good bit of form. Tranmere led the way in League 1 for large parts of the season but have fallen away of late. They’ve lost four of their last five in the league and their last four on the road. Doncaster will be full of confidence and ready for one last push to secure promotion to the Championship and should push aside a Tranmere side really struggling for form.
