Newcastle vs. Chelsea – Saturday 2.2.13, 3pm – 8/11

As the storm clouds gather around Stamford Bridge, Rafa Benitez will be looking forward to getting as far away within the Premier League as he can from West London and will be looking for his side to continue their goalscoring form away from home. Chelsea have bagged 15 in their last 6 road trips, and they will be hard pushed to find a defence more susceptible to being broken down then this Newcastle defence. Both these sides currently have small midfields, which means it will probably come down to which side has the technically superior midfield, in which case Chelsea will run riot. Whether or not Ba finds the net against his former side, expect there to be enough goals in this tie for us.

Leeds United vs. Cardiff  – Saturday 2.2.13, 3pm – Evens

The transfer window may have changed their frontline but I still expect Leeds to be firing on all cylinders and giving Cardiff a hard test when the league leaders travel to Yorkshire this weekend. Leeds are a tough side to beat at home under Warnock, who has oversaw 4 victories at Elland Road in his last 6, but Leeds aren’t the most solid defensive side at home and will be seriously tested by Cardiff’s attack. On the road Cardiff are in fine attacking form, putting 10 past their opponents in their last 6, and with Leicester playing Thursday night, Cardiff will know they either have to stay ahead or increase the gap on their title-chasing rivals.

Tranmere vs. Carlisle – Saturday 2.2.13, 3pm – 4/6

One of the worst away defences in the league is sure to be broken down this weekend when Carlisle visit Tranmere this weekend. The league leaders come into the game on Saturday fully aware that they can’t slip up in this tie with Doncaster breathing down their necks with a game in hand, so expect them to comprehensively get the job done against a Carlisle side that have the 3rd worst away form in the league at the moment. Carlisle’s last away trip resulted in a 4-0 drubbing at the hands of Swindon, and don’t be too surprised if they come away from Prenton Park with the same result.
