Boxing day is a massive day for football and we have got an over 2.5 goals betting tip for the action this Wednesday.

Bet on this tip with a free £50 bet from Betway and you could win £279.

Everton vs. Wigan, Wednesday 26th December, 3pm – 4/6

Everton host Wigan this Boxing Day and will look to heap misery on a Wigan side who will feel hard done by after their 1-0 loss to Arsenal. The Christmas period if gruelling for any side, but after Wigan played a pressing game against Arsenal they will be tired, and their defence will take a battering from an Everton side who aren’t afraid of scoring. But Wigan won’t see goals go past them unanswered. They may have a poor record of goals on the road (3 in 6) but without Fellaini in the Everton side Wigan will have some space in the middle of the park and with the prospect of Jagielka and Heitinga facing them, expect Wigan to play it through the middle rather than risk their woeful crossing against a defence that’s strong in the air. Everton don’t seem to like winning 3 points in an easy manner so expect goals in this tie.

Cardiff vs. Crystal Palace, Wednesday 26th December, 3pm – 4/5

If form is followed every match for this should simply read ‘Goals’. These two sides have been punishing defences all season and flexing their attacking muscles, and they should provide us plenty of goals this Boxing Day. Although they’re the away side, Palace will be aggressive in this tie. They have too much of an attacking side (and manager) to sit back, and they will look to stop the gap between themselves and Hull widening, whereas Cardiff will look to get back to winning ways at home following their shock loss to Peterborough. This game will already be penned in to be the main focus of the Football League Show on Wednesday night, and I don’t think it will disappoint.

Cheltenham vs. Wycombe, Wednesday 26th December, 3pm – 5/6

Cheltenham have been one of the best home sides in League 2 of late, but they will face a tough tie when Wycombe visit. Cheltenham will be eager to get back to Whaddon Road following their 4-1 loss to Rochdale on Friday, and Wycombe will be on the receiving end of the backlash in terms of goals I feel. However Cheltenham’s defence has been poor, and has only kept 2 clean sheets in their last 9 matches, which Wycombe will be able to take advantage of, having scored in each of their last 9 games. The extra rest they have had from their postponed game with Bradford this weekend will be a boost as well, and don’t be surprised to see them put more than 1 past Cheltenham.
