Reasons for this Weekend’s Acca Tips

As Sunderland return to winning ways in League One, they face an AFC Wimbledon team yet to win this season and that clash features in this Saturday Accumulator alongside unbeaten Wycombe’s home fixture with Southend from the same league. Other selections include Bromley’s attempt to extend their decent start to the National League season and two games from Scotland where Hibernian and Alloa are proving difficult teams to beat on home soil.

Sunderland vs AFC Wimbledon Betting Tip – Sunderland win.

After leading 1-0 at Ipswich on Tuesday evening with less than ten minutes remaining, the AFC Wimbledon players must have thought a first League One victory of the season was forthcoming. Yet they were eventually beaten via a very late added time goal to ensure a third 2-1 loss in four league games. The Dons now visit a Sunderland team regaining winning ways after drawing their opening two matches. Although the Blacks Cats have yet to produce their best form this term, they are earning results and have also lost just one game at home in league action since relegation from the Championship in 2018. A win for Sunderland is likely.

Wycombe vs Southend Betting Tip – Wycombe win.

A 90th minute winning goal allowed Wycombe to seal a 3-2 home win against MK Dons last Saturday and earn a seventh point from three League One fixtures. However, the Chairboys were then denied three points on Tuesday evening when Fleetwood netted a very late equaliser but they remain unbeaten over ninety minutes this term ahead of welcoming Southend to Adams Park. The visitors only just avoided relegation last season and have netted just once in losing all four league matches this season. Following a poor 2-0 midweek home loss, another defeat is likely for the Shrimpers.

Bromley vs Boreham Wood Betting Tip – Bromley win.

Although Bromley finished eleventh in the 2018-19 National League campaign, they lost just two of their final nine matches and were beaten by teams contesting the promotion playoffs. The Ravens are now unbeaten in all five fixtures this term, winning three of those matches. Three goals have been netted in three of those games and they now face a Boreham Wood outfit experiencing a mixed start to the campaign. Three defeats would have been suffered by the Wood but for scoring two very late goals in a 2-2 home draw with Wrexham. Despite claiming a 3-0 win at Dagenham for a solitary victory this term, the visitors are tipped to lose at Bromley.

Hibernian vs St Johnstone Betting Tip – Hibernian win.

Although Hibernian were comprehensively beaten 6-1 by Rangers in just their second Scottish Premiership game this season, they played thirty-five minutes with just ten players and they have remained unbeaten in all other six competitive matches. Hibs would have won all four home games during ninety minutes but for conceding a late own goal in a recent cup-tie against Morton. Visitors St Johnstone have earned just one win this term when beating Brechin 1-0 in cup action and they have lost all three games on the road including a heavy 7-0 loss at Celtic. A home win goes into Saturday’s accumulator tips.

Alloa vs Arbroath Betting Tip – Alloa win.

After winning their first two Scottish League Cup ties of the current campaign, life has proved more difficult for Arbroath especially as they lost their two subsequent games in that competition. Having been promoted from League One last term, they have earned just one point from two matches in Championship football and now travel to Alloa. Although the Wasps won 3-2 at Arbroath in an earlier League Cup tie, they have also claimed just one point to date but have yet to be beaten in three competitive games on home soil. Alloa should secure another win against their visitors.
