On Wednesday St Jacob-Park will see Basel take on English giants Manchester United in a group stage Champions League game. The hosts are currently second in Group A after four games, on six points, they have won two and lost two. One of these losses was a 3-0 defeat away at Old Trafford at the start of the campaign. With both teams having good seasons so far, United of course slightly better with four wins in the UCL and sitting second in the Premier League, we can expect them both full of confidence and having lots of chances. United should have the quality to find a result here and make sure they qualify for the knockout stages. Striker Ricky Van Wolfswinkel is out with an injury. Shot stopper Germano Vailati and right back Omar Gaber are more than likely missing for Basel due to injuries and midfielder Taulant Xhaka is suspended.

A slightly weaker squad is to be expected from United with a lot of league fixtures coming up in the near future.
