Football Tips – Both Teams to Score

Spain v Slovakia

At first glance, Spain at home to Slovakia looks an odds on home victory to nil. However, things haven’t exactly been plain sailing for the Spanish ever since their hilarious exit from the World Cup last Summer. Slovakia currently sit top of Group C having won every single qualifier so far, including the home tie against Saturday’s opponents. Furthermore, with Ukraine, who sit just 3 points below the Spanish, playing Belarus almost 3 hours before the game in Spain kicks off, the pressure for a Spanish victory will be hugely increased should the Ukraine grab all 3 points. Ukraine will be overwhelming favourites against a Belarus team without a win so far in qualifying. Therefore, I can see the pressure getting to the Spanish, and given Slovakia’s incredible qualifying form, I would go so far as to say they may even take all 3 points. I think both teams are incredibly likely to score in this one.

Exeter v Leyton Orient

Current League Two leaders Leyton Orient travel to the Westcountry to face 13th placed Exeter City at St James’ Park on Saturday. The Grecians have had a mixed start to their campaign with 2 wins, 2 draws and one defeat, whilst Orient are on a great run of five straight victories. However, Leyton Orient have conceded in both of their away games so far. Exeter’s last 3 home League games have produced 8 goals, with both teams scoring in two. Orient have the best scoring record so far in the League and, with Exeter also being high scorers on their home patch, both teams to score looks extremely likely in Saturday’s League 2 clash.

Walsall v Bury

Bury travel to Walsall on a ridiculous run of form, and not in a good way.  The Shakers are yet to win a game in League One, drawing 4 and losing 1. However, they have managed to score in every single one, as well as conceding in every single one. Over their opening 5 League One games, a total of 21 goals have been scored at an average of just over 4 per game. Whilst their attack is firing on all cylinders, their defence seems to be all over the place. League One leaders Walsall have scored 11 from their opening 5 games, and when put up against a hilarious Bury defence, I see them grabbing a hatful. However, with Bury’s current scoring streak, I expect their attackers at least to put up a fight. On current form, this one is a both teams to score for sure.

Mansfield v AFC Wimbledon

AFC Wimbledon have both scored and conceded in their last 4 League Two matches and currently sit slap bang in the centre in 12th position on 7 points. Mansfield sit 4 places above Wimbledon on 8 points and have both scored and conceded in their last 3 home League games. Both team’s records look very similar and I think the match will probably result in a draw. However, looking at the scoring records of both teams, added to their less than watertight defences, it’s hard to see any other outcome than a BTTS from this one.
