Crystal Palace vs Swansea predictions and betting tips on Saturday afternoon. We’ve picked three football tips for the 3pm kick-off as both teams search for their first win of the season.
Crystal Palace will try and get their first league win of the season when they face Paul Clement’s Swansea. Our football tipster has picked three betting tips including a bet on the over/under 2/5 goals market and what we think is the best prediction of the match below.
Frank De Boer has lost his opening two league games without scoring so far but these two games were contrasting performances. Palace were embarrassed on the opening day of the season when they lost 3-0 at home to Huddersfield but the 1-0 defeat at Anfield last week was a much better performance and he will hope for the same sort of performance against Swansea this weekend. The Eagles got a much-needed confidence boost in midweek when they beat Ipswich 2-1 in the League Cup with James Mcarthur grabbing both of the goals but De Boer will be wanting more from his forward players as they have yet to deliver so far this season.
Swansea are also goal-less in their two league games so far this season but they do have a point on the board as they drew their opening game with Southampton 0-0. They lost 4-0 to Manchester United last weekend but that scoreline doesn’t reflect the Swans performance as they were in the game up until the 80th minute when United decided to run riot. New signing Tammy Abraham has looked impressive without scoring in his opening two Premier League games but he got off the mark for Swansea in midweek in their 4-1 victory over MK Dons and this will give the Chelsea loanee some confidence going into this game.
I can’t call a winner in this game so I will be looking at other markets to find us some winners here. My first Premier League tip is going to be for over 2.5 goals to be scored in the match. Although both sides have yet to score in the Premier League this season they both know that it is important to get a result here or they could go into the international break in the bottom three and this should mean for an open attacking game. Both games between these sides last year had over 2.5 goals and I expect another flurry of goals here. Over 2.5 goals is best priced 6/5 at Bet Victor.
My next football betting tip for this weekend is going to be in the corners market. Crystal Palace often get lots of corners at home (22 in their two home games so far this season) and I think they will continue that trend here. William Hill are offering 10/11 for Palace to have 7 or more corners and this looks a good bet.
My final prediction is going to be from the anytime goalscorer odds for Palace vs Swansea and Christian Benteke is the bet here. The big Belgian is yet to open his account so far this season but he had a golden chance last week against Liverpool and it’s good that he is getting in the right positions. With Zaha out injured, the Palace faithful are looking for Benteke to supply the goals and I think he’ll grab one here. He is 6/4 to score anytime with Paddy Power.
Frank De Boer will be unable to name Wilfred Zaha or Conor Wickham in his starting eleven as they are both out with knee injuries. New signing Jairo Riedewald will have to pass a late fitness test after missing last week’s game against Liverpool. As for Swansea, Fernando Llorente could be back in the squad after recovering from a broken arm and this will be great news for the Swans as he was pivotal in keeping them up last year.
These two sides were involved in one of the games of the season last year when Swansea ran out 5-4 winners at the Liberty Stadium. In the reverse fixture at Selhurst Park, Swansea defeated the home side 2-1 thanks to an Angel Rangel winner.
