Football Accumulator Bet for Saturday 22nd December – Win £261
I am hoping to avoid the dreaded coupon buster which took place last week, the team with the best home record in Europe (Cardiff) losing at home to bottom of the league.
It's almost less painless in a way when it happens like that as there was no way you could see it coming. Onwards and upwards to this week, and as the festive period looms it's a slightly reduced fixture list, with a number of games Friday night. There are also some 2pm Saturday kick-offs to be wary of. Here are this weeks selections :
Ipswich to beat Bristol City
A vital clash at the bottom of the Championship at Portman road on Saturday, Ipswich come into the game having won 3 of their last 4 at home, including wins over in-form Millwall and Nottingham Forest. They face a Bristol City side who have shipped a whopping 45 goals in their 22 league games and yet to keep a clean sheet. Ipswich also have a very strong head-to-head record against their opponents Saturday, winning 6 of their last 10 and only losing 1.
Millwall to beat Barnsley
Millwall have only beat once in their past 16 league games, and are unbeaten at home in 7, keeping a clean sheet in their previous 3 at the New Den. In contrast Barnsley are without a win and clean sheet in 11, though to their credit got a draw at Leicester last time out. They are the lowest scorers in the division though and coming up against a tough Millwall defence is why we are backing the home team strongly.
Brentford to beat Stevenage
2nd v 5th at Griffin Park, Brentford have stormed to 2nd in League one recently after a run of form which has seen them win 5 of 6 and go unbeaten in their last 9. They boast an impressive home record of 8 wins, 2 draws and only 1 defeat and will be smarting from their shock midweek defeat to Rotherham in the F.A cup. Stevenage are a tough nut to crack but have been struggling of late, winning only 1 of their last 6, their away form is impressive but i see Brentford just having enough in a tight encounter due to the form of Donalson and Forrester.
Port Vale to beat Wimbledon
2nd plays 22nd at Vale Park on Saturday. Port Vale are not in the best form but should still have enough to see of a woeful Wimbledon side. Vale boast an impressive scoring rate of 45 goals in 22 games, and 26 of those scored at home. Wimbledon have only won 1 in their last 8 and concede more than 2 goals a game away from home on average.

Other fancies : Southampton, Palace, Leicester, Notts County, Northampton.
