Saturday’s Football Accumulator Tips:
West Ham to beat Bournemouth
We start this week’s accumulator with West Ham United. It’s a big season for the Hammers as it is their last at Upton Park. The fans with want to mark this with a successful campaign and new manager Slaven Bilic has the squad to do that. They started the season in very impressive style beating Arsenal 2-0 but then followed that with last week’s 2-1 defeat to free scoring Leicester. If they do have ambitions of a top half finish then this is the kind of match that they need to be winning. Every football fan has to be impressed with Bournemouth’s rise to the top flight in recent years but it may have come too soon for the Cherries. Back to back defeats and no goals scored isn’t the best start and I don’t see things improving this weekend.
Middlesbrough to beat Bristol City
The Championship looks as wide open as ever this season so many matches will be difficult to predict. However Middlesbrough look to have a touch of class and that alongside a very strong defence should help them have a good season. They conceded just twelve times on their own patch last term and they should have too much for promoted City. The Robins ran away with the League One title last season but have struggled to recruit new players over the summer. They fought back well to snatch a draw and earn their first point of the campaign against Leeds on Wednesday but it may be a step to far to do the same against the title favourites.
Sheffield United to beat Blackpool
Sheffield United started this season in awful fashion losing 4-0 against Gillingham. However impressive back to back wins have got the fans dreaming of a return to the Championship and few would back against them achieving that this term. Confidence will be high for the Blades after beating fellow promotion hopefuls Peterborough on Tuesday and they should have more than enough quality to beat troubled Blackpool. The Tangerines will be looking for a season of consolidation after last season’s awful campaign. They have lost their last two league matches and I don’t see things improving for the seasiders this weekend, put Sheff Utd in your football accumulator.
Walsall to beat Coventry
This is a tough one to call considering that Coventry have a 100% record in the league so far this season. The Sky Blues’ long suffering fans will be hoping for better things this term and I have no doubt that they will have a good season but I think they may struggle against third placed Walsall. The Saddlers have started the season in good form and have won their last two league matches. They are very underrated in this division but If they can avoid injuries this term then I can see them in the promotion mix. If they can beat one the leagues big guns it would put down a huge marker and I think that they have the quality to do that.
Wycombe to beat Dagenham
These two have been very consistent so far this term but for very different reasons. Wycombe have won three out of three while Dagenham have lost all of their three matches and I don’t see any reason why those stats will change this weekend. The Daggers already look to have a fight for survival on their hands this term and their defence that has conceded eight goals already needs to improve. Wycombe on the other hand have got over last season’s heart breaking play off final defeat very quickly and look to be one of the teams to beat in this division. Gareth Ainsworth’s men will want to avoid the play offs this term and achieve promotion automatically and winning games like this will go a long way to achieving that.
