Football Accumulator Tips 24th January
Everton to beat Swansea
Everton will be desperate to get back to winning ways following three successive draws and a defeat in their last four matches when they host Swansea this weekend. The Toffees were hugely unfortunate to leave Stamford Bridge last weekend without all three points, which means they remain in the bottom half of the table despite some good performances. They’ve managed just three wins at home this term, however have a good chance of improving on that against relegation threatened opponents.
The Swans find themselves just a point and a place above the bottom three after a disappointing season to date with just five wins and 10 defeats to their name. They’ve been poor away from home having won just once in 10 matches, netting just eight times and losing six. Both sides could really do with the win, however Everton should have enough firepower to get the win.
Arsenal to beat Chelsea
An intriguing clash at the Emirates sees Arsenal host Chelsea, with the Gunners looking to take one step closer to taking Chelsea’s Premier League crown. Arsenal head into the weekend top of the table on goal difference and are many people’s favourites for the title. They’ve drawn their last two, but away points at Stoke and Liverpool can be seen as decent results. Having won seven times at home since losing on the opening weekend, they are a strong force on their home turf having recorded victories over Manchester City and Manchester United and look a good bet to add to that here.
Chelsea still find themselves in the bottom half of the table in what has been a dreadful defence of their league trophy. Fortunate to gain a point last weekend at home to Everton, they’ve won just six times along with nine defeats, however have stopped the losing run since the departure of Jose Mourinho. But with just two wins on the road this campaign; it’s hard to make a case for them here in what could prove a huge win for Arsene Wenger and his side.
Juventus to beat Roma
Juventus host Roma on Sunday, in an exciting looking match up in the Serie A title race. Juve have recovered from a disappointing start to the season, and having put together a superb run of victories; they find themselves right in the hunt to retain their crown. The Old Lady are just two points off the pace with 10 wins in a row, and having won their last five at home; have conceded just two goals and found the net 11 times.
Roma however continue to lose ground on the top of the table, with four draws from their last five matches. The visitors have won just three times on the road thus far; drawing their last following a 1-0 defeat to Inter. They certainly have the quality to trouble Juventus, but given the form of both sides it looks worth backing the home side once again.
Real Madrid to beat Real Betis
Real Madrid travel to Real Betis on Sunday, looking to maintain their impressive form since Zidane took over the hot seat and complete our weekend accumulator tip. With four wins from their last five matches, the visitors have been in free scoring form of late, scoring a whopping 25 goals in that period. They continue to keep in touch at the top of the table; four points off Barcelona and currently in third spot, and very much need a win to keep alive their title hopes.
They should have enough firepower to overcome a Betis side who find themselves down in 15th place, having lost three and drawn two of their previous five matches. They have the worst home record in the division with just one victory and five defeats in nine matches; finding the net just six times. With this in mind; they need a huge upturn in performance levels if they are to get anything here.
