Football Accumulator Tips
Barnsley to beat Crewe
We start this week’s football accumulator in League One. Mid table Barnsley have struggled for consistency this term they look to have more than enough talent in their squad to be involved in the promotion mix at the end of the season. They beat high flying Gillingham in their last home fixture and will expect a similar result against the team sitting rock bottom of the standings. Crewe have had a terrible start to the campaign and have only a single league victory in eleven to show for their efforts. They already look like they are in a season long battle to avoid relegation unless they can dramatically find some form. Barnsley manager Lee Johnson will expect his side to put last week’s defeat behind them and close in on the play-off positions by gaining the victory.
Leyton Orient to win away at Crawley
After last season’s relegation from League One, Crawley look to have another fight on their hands this term and are in danger of dropping into the non-league. They have been fighting above their weight for several years but poor form on the field and financial troubles off the field are starting to take their toll. They come up against a Leyton Orient side who have stuttered in recent weeks following their fantastic start to the campaign. Despite that they have lost only once in their last five matches and are proving difficult to beat. Crawley on the other hand have failed to win at home this season in any competition and have failed to even find the net on their own patch since August. For my acca tip today I can only see one winner and I fully expect Orient to gain the three points.
Luton to beat York
One win in their opening seven league matches was not the way the Luton Town faithful were expecting this season to start. Thankfully for the fans The Hatters form has taken a turn for the better and four wins on the spin has their side sitting just outside the play-offs. They put four past Hartlepool last week and are the form team in this section at present. They look like real promotion candidates and I expect their winning run to continue this weekend. They come up against a York City side who are struggling for victories this term. Just two in eleven matches isn't a great return for a club who have ambitions of at least reaching the play-offs. They haven’t won in five and all this points to a home victory and three more points to the home side.
Mansfield to beat Newport
Mansfield were fancied to be in a relegation battle this term but have so far proved to be one of the best sides in the division. They currently sit in a play-off position after having lost only two league matches so far. They have the joint second strongest defence in League Two and they will be hoping to build on that to gain a third straight victory. They come up against a Newport side who are really struggling this season. They are struggling and currently prop up the division. They have just a single win to the name all season and are averaging under a goal a game so far this term. They have improved slightly in recent weeks but they will find it hard to break through The Stags defence and for that reason it’s a home win for me.
Northampton to beat Hartlepool
We finish this weekend accumulator tip with Northampton Town. The Cobblers have had a disappointing couple of seasons but things are looking more promising on the pitch this season. They are unbeaten in five matches and striker Marc Richards is in good form having scored six goals so far this term. Manager Chris Wilder saw his side beat then top of the table Wycombe last weekend and will be hoping to build on that this week against struggling Hartlepool. The interestingly nicknamed Monkey Hammer's started the season very well after last season’s great escape from relegation. They have lost six of their last eight league matches and conceded seven in their last two. This all points to Northampton getting all three points and bringing home our winning accumulator.
