Fulham are in brilliant form and thrashed Reading 5-0 last weekend so we’re backing them to get this football tip off to a flying start. The Royals has been one of the form teams in the league prior to that hammering. The Cottagers are also very handy on their travels with four wins from nine and recent victories over Barnsley and Brentford. Slavisa Jokanovic is very much the perfectionist and claimed he wasn’t happy with his sides level of intensity in that victory, so he will be asking for more here. Wolves are still finding their feet under new boss Paul Lambert. They beat QPR last week, but they only came to life in the second half. They looked lethargic for the majority of the game and if they play like that, they’ll be outclassed by a confident Fulham side. The only defeats suffered on the road have been to 2nd place Brighton and in-form Villa, both were by a single goal margin. Wolves have the second worst home form in the league with just 9 goals scored in 9 home matches and four straight losses at Molineux.

Villa must bounce back from their disappointment at Leeds last time out. Steve Bruce’s side bumped into a team in-form and they were carried through by a vociferous home crowd and some quality finishing. Villa are strong in the West Midlands though and this will be a difficult trip for Wigan. They have beaten Blackburn, Cardiff and Fulham here in their last three matches and they’ll be ready for the Latics. Bruce has an embarrassment of riches to choose from in the striking department and quality all over the field. They should be able to grab a couple of goals here. Wigan beat Huddersfield in their last away matches, a terrific win and Yanic Wildschut helped his side with a lively performance. They may be unbeaten on their travels recently, but this will be a step up. They’ve only netted 10 goals in 10 away games and may not cause too much threat to the Villa defence. They will keep the hosts at bay and it might take a while to break through for the Villains should do it.
Dipping down to League One for our final selection on this weekend football tip as Oxford host Oldham at the Kassam. Michael Appleton’s side should be able to build on their excellent recent home run to see of the strugglers. Oldham played on Monday night losing at Sincil Bank to National League outfit Lincoln in the FA Cup, conceding three times. Oxford couldn’t squeeze past Macclesfield, but they kept a clean sheet and were away from home. The U’s have won three of their last four games only losing out to in-form Millwall. They’ve kept it relatively tight, with just 9 goals conceded in 10 and I fancy them to get the job done here. They may be missing Liam Sercombe, but there is still plenty of quality in that side and the likes of Chris Maguire and Alex McDonald can cause the Latic’s defence plenty of problems.
