Hartlepool v Leyton Orient Betting Tips and Predictions

Hartlepool v Leyton Orient preview and football betting tips for this weekend’s live Sky Sports football from League One on Sunday 15th November.

It was announced earlier this week that Hartlepool will feature on the BBC when they face Salford City in the second round of the FA Cup. They sneaked past Cheltenham in the first round and that victory will have come as much needed relief for Ronnie Moore and the Hartlepool fans who have had little to cheer recently.

Hartlepool v Leyton Orient Predictions

After saving them from relegation last season, there were high hopes for this season, but they haven’t been able to kick off and put together a sequence of results like last season. After winning their first three games of the season, they’ve had just two wins for the remainder of the campaign, these were against the current bottom two – Dagenham and Yeovil.

They’ve picked up just points from their last six home games, so you can understand the frustration of their loyal band of followers. The problem is they don’t have much mobility in the centre of midfield and don’t create enough chances. They’ve added Jake Gray to their squad on loan from Crystal Palace and he can add a bit of creativity to the side.

Scott Harrison is back for this in the centre of the defence after he was suspended last time out, but they also don’t score enough goals. They’ve only twice scored more than one goal in a game since late August and they need to start adding goals to avoid being dragged into the relegation scrap. With Newport picking up results and points, there could be danger ahead for Pools.

It’s been a mixed campaign for Leyton Orient, like their opponents, they got off to the perfect start winning all five matches under Ian Hendon and it was looking like life at this level would be plain sailing. Since then, they have only won twice, including in their last away game at the Globe Arena against Morecambe.

They’ve drawn five times since then and they seem to struggle to finish teams off. They have by far a superior front line though, with Jay Simpson claiming the majority of them. Dean Cox remains at the club and he is a very handy outlet if he starts here. They put six past Staines Town and will be in goalscoring mood ahead of their visit to the North East.

I think they will have enough to take all three points here. Despite the mixed form, Orient have won their last away game and they survived a potentially tricky cup tie and I think they have possibly turned a corner. I also think Hartlepool are not in great shape and won’t be picking up three points.

My first Hartlepool v Leyton Orient betting tip is Leyton Orient to win. What are the best odds for Leyton Orient to win? It’s 17/20 at Bet Victor.

Leyton Orient have scored in all but two of their league matches this season, whereas it’s been mixed for the hosts. They have scored 53% of their goals at home though and as we mentioned previously, they tend to find the net, but only once per game. Three of the five games in which they failed to notch were away from home, so I think they will find a way past Leyton Orient. Orient have kept just one clean sheet since the 5th September.

My second Hartlepool v Leyton Orient prediction is both teams to score, the best odds for a BTTS bet in Hartlepool v Leyton Orient is 20/23 with Bet Victor.

The former Arsenal striker Jay Simpson is a man in-form and has found his shooting boots in East London. He’s scored 11 goals in the league this season and is showing why he was so highly regarded by a number of clubs earlier in his career.

My third Hartlepool v Leyton Orient betting tip is for Jay Simpson to score anytime. He is 13/10 with William Hill.
