Football accumulator tips for this weekend’s MLS matches at odds of 14.5/1 for the fivefold football coupon.
It’s another busy weekend of MLS action as we near the conclusion of the regular season and we have picked out an MLS accumulator tip. With many teams having just two games left to play before the beginning of the play-offs, it’s getting congested in the positions that matter. We’ve picked out the best bets for the weekend.
There always seems to be goals when Toronto are at the BMO Field and it was a majestic strike from Italian wizard Sebastian Giovinco that clinched the match for the home side in midweek against New York Red Bulls. Jozy Altidore will be banned for this, but it shouldn’t stop a flurry of goals. Columbus Crew possess the league’s top scorer in the shape of former Middlesbrough striker Kei Kamara, who has been lethal this season. Last time these teams met, it finished 3-3 and the previous encounter at BMO Field ended 3-2 to the home side.
Last time these sides met, the Revolution struggled to cope with big Ivorian striker Didier Drogba and his tower of strength and accurate finishing. The former Chelsea striker is a doubt for this match and is being assessed before kick-off. With his services, Montreal always look a little toothless. Dominic Oduro is a decent forward player, but they lack real nous and they could struggle without him here. Even if Drogba plays, New England Revolution have a very decent home record having not lost here since the 28th of June. They’ve recently beaten the New York Red Bulls, Toronto, Orlando City and New York City here and it’s tough to see Montreal getting anything from this.
Real Salt Lake are all but out of the Post-Season play-offs. Their 1-0 loss at home to Portland Timbers was the third consecutive time that they have lost to that opposition on home soil. Mathematically, they aren’t out of it, but it’s going to take a huge turnaround for it to happen and the reality of the situation is that Real Salt Lake will probably be concentrating on their CONCACAF Champions League Quarter Final now instead. Despite Jeff Cassar saying he was happy with the way his side played in midweek, they didn’t create enough chances and apart from a couple of decent second half saves from the Portland keeper, they didn’t look like scoring. They face FC Dallas, who are top of the Western Conference, but don’t travel well of late. They don’t concede many, they won 2-0 against Vancouver Whitecaps in midweek and this one might be a damp squib.
Portland Timbers’ win over Real Salt Lake also pretty much put the nail in the coffin for the play-off hopes of Owen Coyle’s Houston Dynamo. They can still qualify, but it will take something special, they will first need to see off a rejuvenated Seattle Sounders. The away side can clinch their spot in the end of season shake up with three points here and it’s completely in their hands. I would back them to win, but It’s forecast to be 85 degrees in Texas on Sunday and it’s going to sap the energy of both sides. I still think both sides will score however, the Sounders possess Obafemi Martins and Clint Dempsey who are both still a threat whilst Dynamo tend to net at home. Houston lost 4-1 last time out and both sides have scored in their last two games and in three of their last five.
Another short one, but the home side should stroll away with the points here. Chicago Fire haven’t won away for the entire campaign and in fact haven’t tasted victory on the road for over a calendar year. They have been really poor and are propping up the league. DC United have won the last two encounters here between the sides and they are fresh off the back of a 2-1 win over New York. They haven’t been as consistent as they would have liked at home, but they’ve only lost three times here all season and I can’t see them slipping up here.
