Over 2.5 Goals Accumulator Tips for Saturday 6th August at 40/1
Real football is back and we’re kicking things off with an over 2.5 goals accumulator tip for Saturday 6th August – the odds are a whopping 40/1.
Goals are the order of the day when we open the season in the Football League. We’re hoping for action at both ends at 3pm as we pick out the games in which we’re expecting three or more goals.
Over 2.5 Goals Accumulator Tips
Derby v Brighton
It’s always a good game when these sides meet. Last season’s 1-1 draw at the Amex put a real dent in Brighton’s automatic promotion hopes and it was the second draw of the campaign. The previous meeting at the iPro ended 2-2 and four of the last six meetings between these sides have been goalfests. Quite how Nigel Pearson will line up his side is a question mark, but he has plenty of firepower and can bring on one of a number of strikers if things aren’t going Derby’s way. Chris Martin, Tom Ince, Johnny Russell, Nick Blackman, Darren Bent are all capable of goals and they have plenty of talent in midfield as well. Brighton had an excellent campaign and the addition of Glenn Murray can only enchance their talented squad. Oliver Norwood is a solid addition to midfield and will help push Chris Hughton’s side forward.

Bolton v Sheffield United
An interesting game for both sides with the market favourites against recently relegated Bolton Wanderers. New managers in both dugouts here and it’ll be interesting to see which boss wins tactically. Both sides have firepower with Billy Sharp and Leon Clarke potentially joined Matty Done who is likely to play further forward this season. Chris Wilder’s Northampton were not goal shy in League Two last season and he should take a similar approach in League One with his boyhood Blades. Phil Parkinson is naturally a more conservative boss, but he has Zach Clough raring to go with support from Jamie Proctor. Darren Pratley and Mark Davies can both get forward and score from midfield and it should the game to watch in League One.
Swindon v Coventry
Nicky Ajose may have left the County Ground for South London, but Swindon still possess the significant threat of Jonathon Obika. The striker is an impressive force and has an eye for goal. He should give the Coventry defence the run-around here. Luke Williams has a task on his hands to arrest the slide which ended last season, but there is still plenty of firepower in Wiltshire. John Goddard will be hoping to get off to a flyer. Tony Mowbray’s Coventry are the first visitors and the former Middlesbrough boss will be hoping his side start this season as promisingly as the last. There’s no Adam Armstrong but there is Marvin Sordell and Marcus Tudgay. Swindon look a little light in defence, which should help the Sky Blues. Jodi Jones should have a promising season and should be able to be a thorn in the side of the Robins
Portsmouth v Carlisle
Two sides who many people fancy for promotion this season meet on the opening day of the season at Fratton Park. Portsmouth are stronger this season, but we’ve said that before. Latest addition Noel Hunt should add plenty of experience and chip in with a few goals. Curtis Main impressed for Oldham last season whilst there’s a bright future for Connor Chaplin. Creatively, Milan Lalkovic should assist Gary Roberts and Kyle Bennett and if they rack up the momentum, it’s hard to see them being stopped. Carlisle have plenty of firepower themselves adding Shaun Miller to their striking department. Jabo Ibehre and Charlie Wyke were freescoring last season for the Cumbrians, who should play a big part in this match. They aren’t renowned for keeping clean sheets, but have plenty of attacking prowess and this should be an entertaining affair.
25/1 Man Utd win or 50/1 Leicester win the Community Shield when you open a new Bet Bright account.
Boreham Wood v Forest Green
I’ve been impressed with the dealings of Forest Green in this transfer window and they should have more than enough goals to reach the Football League. Under Mark Cooper, they are bound to play decent football which moves the ball forward at pace. Matt Tubbs is the standout addition and I imagine he will be in double figures by Christmas. Rhys Murphy plays alongside him to make a formidable duo and I don’t hold out much hope for the Boreham Wood defence. I’m sure they will play their part in this match, but the Gloucestershire outfit could easily get the three goals we need here.
