Football Accumulator Tips on Sunday:

Preston to beat Swindon – 23/20

Preston eased into the playoff final with a 4-0 aggregate victory over Chesterfield as they look to make a return to the Championship. A terrific end to the season saw them lose just three of 25 games, and put them in pole position to secure automatic promotion on the final day, but defeat to Colchester saw them blow their chance with MK Dons taking the prize. They do however appear to have recovered well from the set back, and can carry on their strong end to the season against a Swindon side who have been largely disappointing since the turn of the year.

They made it through a remarkable playoff semi-final tie against Sheffield United, with a 7-6 aggregate victory, that certainly highlighted their defensive issues that Preston’s forwards will be sure to exploit.

Swindon ended the season with just three points from five games, a period where they failed to win as they saw their hopes of automatic promotion fade despite the season starting so strongly. The sides met on the penultimate weekend of the league season, with Preston running out comfortable 3-0 winners, and with this in mind they look a good bet to earn a famous victory this weekend.

Stoke to beat Liverpool – 5/2

Stoke welcome Liverpool to the Britannia having already confirmed a ninth place finish after another steady yet impressive season. The hosts will look to end it on a high and can grab the three points if continuing their strong home form.

Mark Hughes’ side have won six and lost just two of their last 10 home games, and look a decent bet to add to recent wins over Southampton and Spurs by inflicting more misery on the Reds.

Liverpool have really struggled in recent weeks, and as a result have seen their hopes of making the top four evaporate. They’ve managed just one win in their last five and are without a win on the road in their last four games. Last weekend’s disappointing performance against Crystal Palace saw them outplayed in a 3-1 defeat, and with all the off-field press surrounding Steven Gerrard and Raheem Sterling, Stoke can take advantage of a side with other things on their mind by claiming all three points.

Aston Villa to beat Burnley – 21/20

Aston Villa’s capitulation at Southampton last week will have served as a huge wake up call for the players ahead of their FA Cup final with Arsenal later this month. And although their safety was confirmed in the meantime, they certainly won’t be taking their final league game lightly with places to play for and the pressure on to show their latest defeat was a one off.

They host a Burnley side on Sunday which offers them a great chance to get back to winning ways after what had been a pretty impressive few months under Tim Sherwood.

Villa have won three of their last five home fixtures and managed five wins from 10 in the league including impressive victories of Everton and Tottenham.

Burley meanwhile will be playing in the Championship next season after failing to beat the drop. They’ve managed just two wins on the road all season, taking just 11 points from 18 away games. Their latest victory at Hull did put an end to four straight away defeats, but having already had their fate sealed, and Villa keen to bounce back, the home side should be strong enough to stamp their authority in this fixture.
