At the back, Yerry Mina and Davinson Sanchez should be able to hold firm and they stand a great chance of finishing top of the pile. Poland are strong and they have Robert Lewandowski in their side but their defence is far from secure and they may concede a few crucial goals along the way. The South American side put three past France in a friendly at the end of March and have showed this class in small doses so far but they should have the quality to win this section. Who Will Qualify from Group H?

Senegal ripped up the form book in 2002 and beat the holders in the opening game of the tournament. They’ve struggled to match those performances since but they are close to getting back to their best. Aliou Cisse, who featured prominently in that 2002 side leads his side to the tournament off the back of a hugely successful qualifying campaign and there are enough quality players in the side to progress to the round of 16. Sadio Mane is the most notable player in the side and his pace and power is likely to cause their rivals plenty of problems. They may not be able to progress much further in the tournament but they can equip themselves well in Group H and emerge from this hugely competitive foursome. Who Will Finish Bottom of Group H?

Japan don’t come into the tournament in good form. They beat a youthful-looking Paraguay side on May 12th but still conceded two goals. Akira Nishino hasn’t had long to work with his squad and that could cause problems for the Blue Samurai in Group H. They are an ageing side who still carry a threat but aren’t particularly convincing. They are reasonably resolute but they lack firepower and they could struggle to pick up many points in Russia.
