Group A Betting Tips:
Group A features Brazil, Croatia, Mexico and Cameroon and it is Brazil who are strong favourites to win the group. There is no value in backing them to do so but a bet on the hosts to win all three matches at 23/20 (Sportingbet) is Mark’s tip. Croatia are fancied to come second in the group and their strong central midfield will be the key to their success.
Mexico struggled through qualifying and only won two of their final 10 matches. Their new coach is reluctant to pick players plying their trade outside of Mexico so that means Carlos Vela is missing and it could be an early flight home for the Mexicans. Cameroon look set to make up the numbers in Group A at the World Cup and Samuel Eto’s continual complaining that his teammates don’t pass to him will do the African outfit no favours. Under 2.5 points for Cameroon looks the best football betting tip here at odds of 17/20.

Group B Betting Tips:
Group B features Spain, Netherlands, Chile and Australia and is one of the most exciting groups on paper. Mark likes Spain’s chances of winning the World Cup outright at 6/1 (Sportingbet) and is predicting them to win Group B, however his tip is for Spain to collect over 6.5 points in the group stage. The Netherlands are expected by most to finish second but Mark is opposing them with Chile. The Dutch manager isn’t expecting a good tournament and their defence will be a real problem in Brazil. 8/5 for Holland not to qualify is the bet here.
Chile picked up five wins and a draw from their last six qualifying matches and completely outplayed England in a friendly, before playing even better against Germany despite losing 1-0. Their goals against column in qualifying read 25 goals shipped in 16 matches and that is a concern for the World Cup. Over 4.5 points at 27/20 is the Group B betting tip for Chile. Australia look set to be the bottom team in Group B and have lost 6-0 twice in recent matches. Mark is tipping Australia to concede the most group goals at 9/2 with Sportingbet.
