World Cup betting tips

The 2018 World Cup continues on Sunday with two knock-out matches taking place throughout the day. Two sides will get the chance to book their place in the last eight of the competition. We’ve picked out today’s best World Cup betting tips.

Today’s World Cup Fixtures

Spain vs Russia – (Round of 16) – 3pm – Luzhniki Stadium

Croatia vs Denmark – (Round of 16) – 7pm – Nizhny Novgorod

Spain vs Russia Prediction

Spain were far from convincing during the group stage but still somehow managed to finish top of their section. They scored one more goal than Portugal and therefore qualified as winners of Group B. They’ve picked up a potentially straightforward fixture in the round of 16, taking on hosts Russia at the Luzhniki Stadium. La Roja’s defence has been the main issue so far and they will be desperate to tighten up. En-route to their 2010 success, they conceded just two goals throughout the entire tournament. In 2018, they’ve shipped five goals in three matches and VAR came to their rescue against Iran. Gerard Pique and Sergio Ramos’ high line has given the opposition plenty of joy and Fernando Hierro may need a re-think ahead of this one. Russia netted eight goals in their first two fixtures, easing past Saudi Arabia and Egypt before coming unstuck against Uruguay. They were reduced to ten men against the South American side and struggled to create chances in the second half. They should be able to play their part in a potentially entertaining match but may just fall short. Spain have option on their bench which could make a huge difference and they should be backed in this clash. Spain to Win and Over 1.5 Match Goals can be backed at 21/20 with Ladbrokes and they are offering a £50 free bet to use on the World Cup 2018.

Croatia vs Denmark Prediction

The Croatian camp hasn’t always been the most harmonious but the players seem to have put their prejudices to one side and concentrated on matters on-the-pitch. Zlatko Dalic appears to have galvanised his side and that focus has seen them breeze through Group D. They won all three of their group games, joining Uruguay and Belgium as one of just three sides to have collect maximum points from their first three outings. They took advantage of some generous defending from Argentina but they weathered the storm against Iceland before scoring a late winner. They will be confident coming into this encounter. Denmark weren’t overly impressive during the tournament, collecting just five points in Group C. They were on the back-foot for the majority of their first two matches before qualifying courtesy of a convenient goalless draw with France. Age Hareide’s side are functional but especially enjoyable to watch and they may get found out here. Croatia should be able to continue their momentum and qualify for the round of 16. They are available at 5/6 with Betfred and you can use their £30 free bet to back them.
