World Cup 2018 Football Predictions Group E – Serbia

The Serbian national team has become somewhat overlooked in recent years after they failed to book a place at the 2014 World Cup, and subsequently fell short of qualifying for Euro 2016 just two summers ago.

Now however, on the back of registering one truly profitable qualifying campaign in the run up to this summer’s hotly anticipated international showdown, Serbia seemingly arrive at the 2018 World Cup with some renewed fortunes fastened under their wing.

The 23-year-old didn’t exactly hit the ground running whilst plying his trade at St. James’ Park, but the same can’t be said for his most recent form on the international scene with Serbia. Mitrovic has proven something of a goal-scoring machine throughout qualification for the 2018 World Cup, with many expecting the young frontman to continue banging in the goals this summer.

Mitrovic will nonetheless have to make sure he remains on the pitch for the entirety of Serbia’s Group E fixtures. Failure to keep a cool head could severely cost the former Anderlecht man in what could prove the most telling spell of his entire striking career.
