World Cup Final: Germany vs Argentina Scorecast Betting Tip at 45/1
Germany vs Argentina predictions and betting tip for a scorecast bet on the World Cup final at odds of 45/1.
What a World Cup it has been; perhaps the best ever? If we look beyond the short-lived involvement of England – and let's be honest we didn't hold high hopes of them going far in this World Cup – we've been able to watch on as some of the world's better teams, along with some unlikely performers, have put on quite a spectacle in Brazil.
We've had goals, drama, spectacular goals, controversy, Suarez doing a Suarez, more goals and even a British ticket agent on the run in Rio to add a little more excitement as the tournament reaches its climax.
Despite the abysmal Brazilian performance, particularly the defending on show from David Luiz, Dante and co. against Germany in the semi-final in Belo Horizonte, the Germans were undoubtedly brilliant and ruthlessly clinical, as we can only expect from the Germans, and as a result they are rightly the slight favourites in the latest betting odds going into this World Cup final.
Argentina have done what is needed in their games and star-player Messi has scored at the right times to help his side reach their first World Cup final since 1990, when they lost 1-0 to Germany. He now has the opportunity to light up the world's biggest stage and Argentina will not allow themselves to be taken apart in quite the way the Brazilians did – in Ezequiel Garay and the brilliant Javier Mascherano they at least have defensive players capable of maintaining some structure and discipline – so don't expect this one to produce a goalfest.
However, Germany's slick passing and proven goalscoring ability will certainly pose plenty of questions of Argentina and it is hard to see them not scoring when looking for our Germany v Argentina prediction. The impressive Thomas Muller has managed five goals so far and is just one goal shy of Columbia's James Rodriquez, on six, in the Golden Boot leaderboard. We think it will be Muller who breaks the deadlock and sets Germany on course for a fourth World Cup title.
So for our Germany v Argentina World Cup Final scorecast betting tip back Thomas Muller to score first and Germany to win 2-1 at best odds of 45/1 with William Hill.
