The World Cup Players Everyone Will Be After Come June

The World Cup is a tournament that throws up all sorts of transfers. Some good, some bad. We all remember El Hadji Diouf’s entry to the Premier League!

Every year players are bought on the basis of a good tournament. This year won’t be any different. But who will it be this year?

Antoine Griezmann

He’s been a quality player for years now and so has speculation about a move away.

France are third favourite to win the World Cup bit a big tournament from the Atletico striker will see a big fee come in for him. Manchester United and Barcelona have been rumoured for a while and it will be one of the moves of the summer if either get him.

Arthur

People are calling this man the next Paulinho. We hope he doesn’t take a step backwards and move to China.

Barcelona are rumoured for this man and a big World Cup for this midfielder will almost certainly see a move to Europe.

The 21-year-old Gremio midfielder is being watched by both Barca and Madrid but a good Russia 2018 will certainly see Premier League clubs get involved.

Timo Werner

We’d be amazed if a Premier League club doesn’t come in for Germany’s Timo Werner.

Joachim Low’s side are 9/2 to win the World Cup and Werner will be a huge part of that team. He’s been firing for RB Leipzig and looks the perfect replacement for Miroslav Klose.

A bigger club is bound to come calling and the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea or Everton would be daft to miss out. That’s if they keep Real and Bayern away anyway.

Gaston Silva

There’s a huge lack of good centre halves at world class teams and the elite Premier League clubs and European sides will be keeping their eyes on defences across the World Cup.

Step in Gaston Silva. The Uruguayan 23-year-old has not long moved to Independiente, has only three caps to his name but is already being touted for a move to Europe.

If he stays solid alongside Diego Godin and Jose Gimenez, then the likes of Luis Suarez can make things happen up top, Uruguay really will be a force to be reckoned with.

Harry Kane

Let’s face it, while he’s always one of Europe’s hottest prospects, a big tournament from Harry Kane could see a world record bid.

He’s 20/1 in the odds to top score at the World Cup and we’d take a punt on that given England’s group.

A trip to the Quarter Final or Semis however and Kane is playing different league. Both Manchester clubs, Real Madrid and Barcelona have the money for him. People keep comparing to Gary Lineker, a move to the Nou Camp could be inevitable?!
