ITV Racing Tips for Day 3 of the St Leger Festival 2021 (Friday 10th September)
ITV are back at Doncaster on Friday and hopefully, we will see a clash of two of the best stayers around when the legend Stradivarius takes on Trueshan in the Doncaster Cup.
The action gets underway at 1.40pm with five races live on ITV. Henry has ran through the card and picked his best betting tip for each live race.

1:40 Doncaster
The first race from Doncaster on Friday is the Flying Scotsman Stakes, a listed contest over 7f.
My selection here is RIBHI (5/1). He’s only had the one run to date but it was a really impressive debut success. The son of Dark Angel powered clear over the 6f trip at Salisbury and gave the impression 7f would be no problem at all. There was some substance to that debut victory and you’d expect further improvement here given that was his racecourse debut. Potential group horse.
2:10 Doncaster
Next up is the Flying Childers Stakes, a Group 2 contest over the minimum 5f trip.
I’ll chance KORKER NAP (33/1) here at the prices. Korker has had five runs to date winning two of those races in impressive fashion. He finished 7th last time out in a decent York sales race which is working out very well form wise. He had excuses that day as he just didn’t settle well enough in the early stages and that resulted in him weakening in the final furlong to drop out the frame. If he settles better today, I think he could produce a huge shock here.
2:40 Doncaster
The 2:45 race is the feature race. It is the Doncaster Cup, a Group 2 for the stayers over 2m2f. Fan favourite Stradivarius heads the market at around 4/6.
I’ll chance the improver here RODRIGO DIAZ EW (15/2). He is a horse that’s progressing very nicely and never seems to run a bad race. He likes to be held up and deliver his effort as late as possible which is an ideal match for jockey Jamie Spencer. He is a course winner here at Doncaster which is a positive and this step up in trip could arguably bring our further improvement. The value selection.
3:15 Doncaster
The Mallard handicap is up next at Doncaster, a tricky handicap for punters over the trip of 1m6f.
The one for me here is PRINCE ALEX (6/1). He was a gutsy winner last time out at Goodwood in a decent race where he beat a number of good solid handicappers. He’s only up 4lb for that win and I don’t think we’ve seen the best of him yet. Rossa Ryan is a jockey I rate very highly and he keeps the ride for in-form trainer Michael Bell.
3:45 Doncaster
The finale on ITV Friday is another tricky handicap, this time over 6f.
My selection here is ASJAD NB (9/2). He’s certainly the most unexposed horse in the line-up and a lot of his market rivals don’t have much scope for improvement off their current marks. However, this lad could prove to be a lot better than his current mark of 96. He’s only had three runs to date, winning the first two before losing by a neck in a tactical affair last time out at Ffos Las. He won here at Doncaster on his second start and the stronger pace he’ll get today will suit him a lot more than his previous start. Expect a bold bid.
