Glorious Goodwood Day 4 Tips for Friday 29th July

Glorious Goodwood tips 2021

Glorious Goodwood rolls into Friday and our day 4 tips include an each-way bet in the big race of the day over the flying 5 furlongs, the King George Qatar Stakes due off at 3.35.

Henry has been through all six of the live ITV races and picked his best betting tip for each which you can read about below.

You can also get £40 in free bets to spend on our Goodwood tips when you open a new Paddy Power account to bet today.

1:50 Goodwood

The longest race of the week gets us underway on Friday with the Coral Goodwood handicap over 2m4f.

The one for me is SUPER SUPERJACK (4/1) EW. Milton Harris is a trainer with an incredible strike rate for a small stable and hopefully, he can add a Glorious Goodwood winner to the CV. A decent winner at Ascot three starts back, he’s then went close on his last two starts at York and Salisbury. I think he’s all stamina and this extreme test will suit him well. 8’4 is a lovely racing weight for this. He’s a consistent sort who’s rarely out the frame and he’s a solid each-way bet in the opener.

2:25 Goodwood

The Bonhams Thoroughbreds Stakes is next, a Group 3 for the 3 year-olds over the mile trip.

I like BAYSIDE BOY (3/1) here. There isn’t much between the front two in the market but I think Bayside Boy can come forward from his two starts this season. He was an excellent juvenile last year and made his return to action in the French Guineas where he looked in need of the run to me. He the went to the St James Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot where he was hampered at a crucial stage before staying on well enough to finish mid-division. That was a slow gallop which wouldn’t have suited. The longer Goodwood straight will suit better as he can take a while to get going and I think this race will suit well on nice quick ground.

3:00 Goodwood

Next up, we have a competitive renewal of the Golden Mile handicap.

I really like BLUE FOR YOU (9/1) NAP. I actually rate him my bet of the week. Drawn in stall 1 looks ideal for a start, you need a low draw round this track especially now there is no cut away in the straight. He’s coming to the boil nicely this season and he’s improving with every run. He brings decent form to the table mixing it with all the right horses for this type of race and running off a mark of 93 here, he has to go close here. He should have won last time out off a mark of 96 going down by a short head in a ride that looked like they were waiting for another day. The visor is on and I think he’ll win for the shrewd David O’Meara team.

3:35 Goodwood

The feature on Day 4 is the King George Qatar Stakes, a Group 2 over the minimum 5f.

I like ACKLAM EXPRESS (9/1) EW here. He brings the best form to the table here finishing third at Group 1 level behind the best sprinter in the world Nature Strip last time out. He has a lovely draw in stall 10 and has the pace to bag the rail. He also brings strong Goodwood form to the table and the trainer does well here in general.

4:10 Goodwood

The 4:10 is the Group 3 Queens Plate Glorious Stakes over 1m4f.

I think the favourite REBELS ROMANCE (6/4) NB will take a lot of beating here. I think he’s the improver in the line-up against some exposed sorts. He won in taken fashion last time out at Newmarket despite being a drifter in the market and if he backs that up, he will win this doing handstands in my opinion.

4:45 Goodwood

The finale on ITV is a 6f nursery handicap for punters to try and solve.

It’s CALIFORNIA GEM (6/1) for me here. A 2 year-old trained by George Boughey ridden by Rossa Ryan who’s won her last two starts is good enough for me. A combination of improving with every run to date but also she has enough experience for this track not to worry me. She should run her race and I think she can be better than a mark of 87.
