Lingfield: 2:17 Read Kevin Blake On attheraces.com Novices’ Handicap Chase 2m4f

Described by trainer Dan Skelton as a ‘huge’ horse, the beautifully bred Seven No Trumps ran respectably, albeit without ever threatening to win, on all three starts over hurdles last season. However, fences could be the making of him and Skelton has wasted little time in sending him over the larger obstacles. First time out could be the time to catch the 6-year-old Milan gelding, who looks to have a bright future.

Selection: Seven No Trumps (5/1 with William Hill)

Taunton: 2:25 Short Run Press Celebrating 40 Years Handicap Hurdle 2m3f1y

An Tailliur slipped and unseated Kevin Brogan at the first flight at Cheltenham last time, but his earlier form bears close inspection and he can make amends for that mishap. He had previously completed a five-timer when beating subsequent winner Khan at Exeter and a 4lb rise in the weights for that success looks entirely fair. He shouldn’t be inconvenienced by dropping back in distance and may still be a little way ahead of the handicapper.

Selection: An Tailliur (3/1 with William Hill)

Wolverhampton: 4:35 MansionBet Beaten By A Head Handicap 1m142y

Saleymm has improved with each of his three runs so far and won as he pleased over 7 furlongs at Chelmsford two weeks ago. Exactly what that form amounts to is anyone’s guess, but he makes his handicap debut off a realistic mark against limited opposition and is, frankly, hard to oppose. An extra furlong and a half should be well within his compass and he could well be destined for better things in due course.

Selection: Saleymm (6/4 with William Hill)

Chelmsford: 6:20 Betsi Handicap 7f

Trumble steps up in class off a 7lb higher mark than when winning, comfortably, over course and distance earlier this month, but is now 3-3 at Chelmsford and looks worth following until beaten on Polytrack. This represents, far and away, his stiffest task to date, but he has yet to be fully tested over 7 furlongs on his favoured surface, so may not have finished winning yet.

Selection: Trumble (11/8 with William Hill)
