Ayr – 12:30

The action gets underway in this Class 4 Novices’ Hurdle over 2m with 12 runners are set to go to post. The Michael Scudamore trained Lebowski is likely to go off as favourite after an excellent six-length victory at Ffos Las over this distance on his return from a nine-month break. He can follow up that win with Richard Patrick in the saddle.

Selection: Lebowski (6/4 with William Hill)

Ayr – 13:05

A competitive Class 5 Handicap Chase over 2m4½f where Lucinda Russell has four runners. And we’re backing one of them, Camp Belan, each-way. He returned from an eight-month break to finish third of seven at Hexham in a better grade of race than this. The drop down to Class 5 company and a return run under his belt makes him a real threat with Conner McCann on board.

Selection: Camp Belan (15/2 with William Hill)

Ayr – 13:40

The selection in this Class 4 Novices’ Hurdle is the Nicky Richards trained, Famous Bridge. He showed enough potential when runner-up on his hurdling debut at Carlisle last month to suggest he can go one better this time. That was only his second run, and he can be guided to victory over this 2m3½f contest by champion jockey, Brian Hughes.

Selection: Famous Bridge (7/2 with William Hill)

Ayr – 14:10

The action continues in the Class 4, 2m4½f Handicap Hurdle, where the selection is another Lucinda Russell trained runner, Operation Overlord. He caught the eye when finishing second on his return run at Carlisle last month and looks to have been given a workable mark on his handicap debut. Derek Fox takes the ride.

Selection: Operation Overlord (11/4 with William Hill)

Ayr – 14:45

The longest contest on the card is this Class 3 Handicap Chase over 3m where Buzz De Turcoing gets the vote. He made a promising start to his chasing career when finishing as runner-up at Wetherby last month after an eight-month break. That was over the same distance as this contest and James Bowen can steer him to victory now that he steps into handicap company for the Samuel Drinkwater yard.

Selection: Buzz De Turcoing (4/1 with William Hill)

 Ayr – 15:20

The final race of the day is the Class 5 National Hunt Flat Race over 2m where River Meadow gets the each-way nod. His trainer, Nicky Richards, has a strong record in bumpers at this venue and he can make a winning debut with Mark Galligan on board.

Selection: River Meadow (6/1 with William Hill)
