Ludlow – 12:30

The selection in the first race of the day is Whitlock in this Class 4 Novices’ Claiming Hurdle over 2m. He produced a decent performance on his second run of the season to finish third at Plumpton three weeks ago. He is 3lb lighter for this and further improvement is likely for trainer, Andy Irvine, under the ride of James Bowen.

Selection: Whitlock (SP with William Hill)

Ludlow – 13:00

Twelve are set to go to post in this Class 5 Novices’ Handicap Chase where Ambion Hill can get his head home in front for trainer, Colin Tizzard. He finished fourth of 18 on his return from an eight-month break in a Handicap Hurdle at Exeter last month but goes over fences in this one and has the size to think he’ll make a better chaser. Brendan Powell is on board.

Selection: Ambion Hill (7/2 with William Hill)

Ludlow – 13:30

The Paul Nicholls trained, Miranda, made a pleasing comeback in a listed race at Wetherby at the end of October and can defy a big weight to win this Mares’ Handicap Hurdle for the second year running. Angus Cheleda is on board for the 2m trip.

Selection: Miranda (2/1 with William Hill)

Ludlow – 14:00

Another Paul Nicholls trained runner goes in the Class 3 Corrie Cup Handicap Chase over 3m1½f and gets the vote. Switch Hitter returned from a seven-month absence to win at Hereford four weeks ago and there should be more to come from him over fences, Bryony Frost takes the ride, which is another bonus.

Selection: Switch Hitter (2/1 with William Hill)

Ludlow – 14:30

Just four are set to contest this Class 3 Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase over 2m and it’s hard to not make a case for all of them. However, the nod goes to the Fergal O’Brien trained, Golden Taipan. The only course and distance winner in the race and Paddy Brennan on board could see him win here again.

Selection: Golden Taipan (2/1 with William Hill)

Ludlow – 15:00

A competitive Handicap Hurdle over 3m is the penultimate race of the day, with the each-way vote going to the Robin Dickin trained, Cheer’s Delboy. He produced a clear round at Huntingdon three weeks ago to finish third of seven, and a similar performance can see him go close again under the ride of Lorcan Murtagh.

Selection: Cheer’s Delboy (15/2 with William Hill)

Ludlow – 15:00

The final selection of the day is an each-way punt on Third Street in this Class 4 National Hunt Flat Race. From the Nigel Twiston-Davies yard, he should go well on debut with Jordan Nailor on board, who claims 3lb.

Selection: Third Street (12/1 with William Hill)
