Catterick: 2:40 Vickers.Bet North Yorkshire Grand National Handicap Chase 3m6f

Sidi Ismael is unbeaten in three starts since joining David Pipe in November and, although 7lb higher in the weights than when winning the Lincoln National at Market Rasen on Boxing Day, is hard to oppose. He flashed his tail under pressure in the closing stages on that occasion and was all out to win in the end but, even so, looks a cut above some limited, fully exposed opposition here.

Selection: Sidi Ismael (1/1 with William Hill)

Bangor-on-Dee: 2:00 Stella Artois Handicap Chase 3m

Snuff Box has been well beaten on both starts so far this season, but takes a drop in class off a handicap mark just 1lb higher than when winning at Haydock in April, so can be given a chance at potentially rewarding odds. He has winning form on the prevailing heavy ground and should be staying on when his rivals have cried enough.

Selection: Snuff Box (12/1 with William Hill)

Newcastle: 2:50 Betway Casino Handicap 1m2f

Jomont is chasing a course and distance hat-trick after winning a better race than this, off a handicap mark just 1lb lower, early last month, so is understandably a short-priced favourite. While hardly an original selection, he is a strong-travelling type who looks destined for better things in due course, so is nigh on impossible to oppose.

Selection: Jomont (1/1 with William Hill)

Chelmsford: 7:00 Injured Jockeys Fund Handicap 7f

Topweight Full Intention returns from an 11-week break, but has gone well fresh in the past and is just 1lb higher in the weights than when winning, in this grade, over course and distance in October. Newmarket trainer Simon Pearce has yet to saddle a winner this year, but has a decent strike rate with his older horses at Chelmsford, so Full Intention has bright prospects of recording his sixth course and distance win.

Selection: Full Intention (6/1 with William Hill)
