Cheltenham – 1:45

The first selection of the day is in the Class 2 Handicap Chase over 2m at a competitive six-race card at Cheltenham. The Paul Nicholls trained Magic Saint shaped as if he needed his comeback run over 19f at Wetherby a fortnight ago and should be fitter for it. He won this race last year off this mark of 152 and on his second start of last season, so we fancy him to repeat the feat again this year. Claimer, Angus Cheleda, is on board and takes off a useful 5lb too.

Selection: Magic Saint (10/3 with William Hill)

Worcester – 2:45

Hello Sunshine goes in this 2m4f Class 5 Handicap Hurdle for trainer, Paul Webber. His best efforts have come when fitted with a tongue strap, winning at Uttoxeter on only his second start in handicap company in May. He won well that day at a tough track, so Worcester might suit him. He wears the tongue strap again and Ciaran Gethings in the saddle is a big plus.

Selection: Hello Sunshine (15/8 with William Hill)

Worcester – 3:20

Thundersocksundae could go off as the strong favourite in this Class 5 Handicap Hurdle over 2m4f. He showed plenty of promise on his sole start in bumpers and again over hurdles, without properly threatening to win last term. However, he returns from a 213-day break for the Fergal O’Brien yard who are in good form, so improvement cannot be ruled out. This will also be only his third start in handicap company, and he is on a career-low mark under the ride of Connor Brace.

Selection: Thundersocksundae (5/4 with William Hill)

Cheltenham – 3:30

Although Off Your Rocco is unlikely to go off as favourite in this Class 1 Novices Hurdle contest over 2m5f, the selection had a bit in hand when securing a fourth win from five starts in a Listed event at Limerick a month ago. He remains unexposed and is open to further improvement, so we’re backing him to take on the likely favourite at post, Gelion Bello. Davy Russell in the saddle is a big bonus as he knows how to win round here.

Selection: Off Your Rocco (11/4 with William Hill)

Worcester – 3:50

The final selection of the day goes in this Class 5 Mares’ Handicap Hurdle over 2m for trainer, Stuart Kittow. Tibbie Dunbar had only produced modest runs on the flat over the summer but has taken well to hurdling and showed some much-improved form to get off the mark on her hurdling handicap debut at Exeter 10 days ago. She finished well on top at the finish that day to win by 10-lengths and still looks well in under a 7lb penalty, especially as Kieren Buckley in the saddle takes off another useful 5lb.

Selection: Tibble Dunbar (Evs with William Hill)
