Warwick – 14:15

A competitive race is expected in this Class 4 Handicap Hurdle over 2m3f where Getalead gets the each-way vote. He returned from an 11-month break to finish second at Ludlow over 2m at the start of October, before securing a breakthrough win three weeks ago at Wincanton over 2m5½f. That extra distance seemed to suit and he should be amongst the action again despite a 5lb rise. Trainer, Claire Harris, seems to have him fit and David Pritchard, who is in the saddle, looks to built up an imposing partnership.

Selection: Getalead (5/1 with William Hill)

Warwick – 14:50

Some familiar names go in the Class 2 Veterans Handicap Chase over 3m where Minellacelebration gets the each-way nod for trainer, Katy Price. As many of his rivals in this race return from long breaks, the selection might have the edge after a decent performance last month at Aintree. He was fourth of seven that day, but had gone off as favourite and wasn’t beaten by far. He drops 2lb for this contest and has Ben Poste in the saddle so should be a danger at a big price.

Selection: Minellacelebration (10/1 with William Hill)

Hexham – 15:00

The Nigel Hawke trained Heart Of Kernow loves it round Hexham and he gets the each-way nod. He goes in this Class 5 Handicap Hurdle over 2m4f, which will be his second start of the season. He won on his return a fortnight ago at this track over 2m. The trip is slightly further this time, but that comeback run will have done his fitness and confidence the world of good. He’s raised 4lb for that success, but jockey Tom Buckley takes off a useful 5lb.

Selection: Heart Of Kernow (5/1 with William Hill)

Hexham – 15:35

The tentative each-way vote goes to Shoeshine Boy in the final race of the day at Hexham. He goes in this Class 5 Handicap Hurdle over 2m4f for Donald Whillians and makes appeal as a potential improver now competing in handicap company over a longer trip. His previous runs over 2m returned modest results in Maiden and Novice races, so we’re hoping that handicapping could unlock some hidden potential. Craig Nichol takes the ride over a course he used to running at.

Selection: Shoeshine Boy (12/1 with William Hill)
