Horse Racing Tips: Nap Selections at Thursday’s Meetings

Thatsagoal Racing Tips

There is more racing than you can shake a stick at, once again, on Thursday, with meetings at Southwell, Wincanton, Kelso and Chelmsford.

A progressive 5/1 chance at Southwell heads our list of fancies, but we have appealing selections at all four meetings.

Southwell: 3:00 Watch Racing Free Online At Coral Handicap 6f

Lucky Man steps up in class, but has been knocking on the door in recent starts and might just be good enough. His latest effort, when beaten a nose and a neck in a 0-80 contest at Lingfield 12 days ago, was arguably his best yet and he is still not fully exposed over 6 furlongs.

Selection: Lucky Man (5/1 with William Hill)

Wincanton: 4:10 Dick Hunt Handicap Chase 3m1f

French import El Paso Wood opened his account for David Pipe in taking style over slightly further on this course two weeks ago and may be capable of defying a 10lb rise in the weights. He remains unexposed as a staying chaser, but completed a hat-trick on good going for previous trainer Arnaud Chaille-Chaille last season, so has underfoot conditions in his favour.

Selection: El Paso Wood (3/1 with William Hill)

Kelso: 4:20 William Hill Leading Racecourse Bookmaker Handicap Hurdle 2m5f

The likes of Elvis Mail and Voix Du Reve are becoming, or have become, frustrating and preference on this occasion is for handicap debutante Famous Bridge. Nicky Richards’ lightly-raced 6-year-old has run well in all three novice hurdles, winning at Ayr in November, and receives weight from all bar one of his rivals.

Selection: Famous Bridge (2/1 with William Hill)

Chelmsford: 6:00 Betsi Handicap 6f

Zarzyni was beaten favourite, off today’s mark, over course and distance last week, but wasn’t beaten far, despite being denied a clear run in the closing stages and can make amends. He has run well on all three starts on Tapeta and doesn’t look badly treated on the pick of his form on turf.

Selection: Zarzyni (2/1 with William Hill)
