Horse Racing Tips: Racing League Race Day 3 from Lingfield Tonight

The Racing League makes the first of two scheduled stops at Lingfield on Thursday evening.

As ever, the action comes thick and fast, with all six races screened live on Sky Sports, so we’ve come up with half a dozen selections on what should be an exciting night.

Strike Red didn’t look entirely straightforward when winning at Newcastle two weeks ago, but still looks feasibly handicapped and may be able to complete a hat-trick. The son of Dark Angel carried his head high when winning at Hamilton, too, so it isn’t necessarily a cause for concern.

Ivatheengine didn’t enjoy the run of the race when only eighth at Doncaster last week, but his second at Newcastle, following wind surgery, was an improvement on his recent form. He remains well handicapped on his return to Polytrack.

6:38 William Hill Pick Your Places Racing League R15 7f

Mohareb should appreciate the return to 7 furlongs and remains just 2lb higher in the weights than when winning a lesser race, over 6 furlongs, here two starts ago. He was denied a clear run, more than once, when only sixth at Newcastle two weeks ago and can make amends.

7:08 William Hill Double Your Odds Racing League R16 1m

A typically trappy handicap, but Lankaran is unbeaten on synthetic surfaces and recorded a career-best effort on his return from a gelding operation at Kempton in June. He is 6lb higher in the weights in a better race here, but appears to be going the right way and may yet have more to offer.

Fame N Fortune has done most of his winning over 1 mile 2 furlongs here and wasn’t beaten far, off today’s mark, at Newcastle last time. The handicapper may not have its measure just yet.

8:08 William Hill Build Your Odds Racing League R18 1m4f

Scampi remains a maiden after seven starts, but is just 2lb higher in the weights than when narrowly beaten in a similar race at Goodwood last time. He appears to handle Polytrack well enough and deserves a change of luck.
