Horse Racing Tips for the Lingfield Card on Sunday 7th June 2020
Away from the top meetings at Newmarket and Haydock today there is some racing at Lingfield for punters to get stuck into. I have 6 selections which have strong chances and may be worth a Lucky 63.
The 1.05 race is a Maiden Stakes for the fillies with top 2-year-old trainers well represented amongst the market leaders.
The one I like is trained by Mark Johnston is SANDS OF TIME 5/2. The garden has started strongly since racing resumed and this fully has a smart pedigree. I’m sure Mark will have this one ready to go first time out and 5/2 is a good win bet to get us off to a flyer.
The 1.40 race is a Maiden Stakes race over the 1m4f distance. Gosden is well represented with the 5/4 favourite Pharaoh King who will be expected to put his experience to good use here.
Pharaoh King hasn’t set the world alight in his first 2 runs and I like the Godolphin runner here SUMMER HOUSE 11/4 who has a strong pedigree that will appreciate this distance. I don’t think he will need to be a world beater to be taken this race and I think he may outclass this lot.
The most interesting race on the card for me is this 3.25 contest. A handicap over the 1m distance with plenty of unexposed sorts. The horse I like is the John Gosden horse CEMHAAN 9/2. Cemhaan won well last time out at Kempton and is open to a significant amount of improvement this season. Gosden has started the season strongly and this one appears a great bet today.
Another handicap race over the 1m distance but this race doesn’t appear to be as exciting as the previous race with plenty of mediocre horses in the line-up.
The horse that appears to maybe have more potential than the others comes from the red-hot Andrew Balding stable and it is BERKSHIRE PHILLY 13/2 EW. The horse was no more than average on his first 4 runs of his career last season but I’m sure he will have wintered well and improvement will be expected after another winter on its back.

We have another Class 6 race over the 1m distance and this appears to be a wide-open betting heat.
The one for me sits at the front of the market and it is RIVAS ROB ROY 7/2 NB. Won here well from the front 2 runs back before finishing 4th from a poor draw last time out. Better draw again today and I expect a bold showing from this front runner here.
The 5.45 is the finale on the card and it is a Class 6 race over 5f.
It is all about one horse for me here and that is ICE ICE LADY 11/4 NAP. Ice Ice Lady is trained by Archie Watson who has started the season as well as anyone. Hollie Doyle takes the ride and she has also had an impressive start since racing resumes. The horse is totally unexposed and I think the current handicap mark is very lenient. The horse won well first time out over this course and distance before finishing a creditable third on only her second career start. Expect more improvement and a race victory here.
