Horse Racing Tips Today: Five Each-way Bets from Wednesday’s Cards
After a fantastic week last week at Royal Ascot we are back with 5 cracking e/w bets throughout the day all at tasty prices. Could well be worth an e/w Lucky 31.
The 1.40 at Haydock appears to be a wide-open Class 3 handicap over the 5f distance with plenty of well-known sprinters in the line-up.
The horse I like is ACCLAIM THE NATION 11/2 NB.This horse ran very well last time out here at Haydock finishing a close second behind Celsius. Acclaim the Nation was a big drifter on the day that day which suggests connections were expecting him to improve for that run. Acclaim The Nation likes to bowl along in front and I think they may struggle to get past him on this occasion. Harley takes the rides for this Eric Alston and 11/2 is a good bet.
My next selection at Haydock comes in this 3.40 contest over the 1m distance and you can use William Hill TV to watch this race. There are a few unexposed sorts in here that could be well in including the Michael Dods trained favourite Brunch and the Roger Varian trained Star Power.
Nevertheless, the horse I like is a little more exposed than the above runners and it is HIGH FLYING BIRD 8/1 EW. I backed this horse last time out and he ran a blinder finishing third behind an improving sort. High Flying Bird arguably ran on the worst part of the track ground wise there so the performance can be raised. Dascombe and Kingscote team up here and we all know how well they do around this track and they’ll be expecting a big run here. 8/1 is a good ew bet.
The 4.10 race is a Class 4 handicap over the 1m distance and Sir Michael Stoute trains the favourite Sovereign Grant for the Queen. This son of Kingman was poor first time up this season but will be expected to improve for that here. At the prices I am happy to look elsewhere.
The horse I like is DATA PROTECTION 12/1 EW for the William Muir team. I’m sure Muir is still on a high following Pyledrivers win at Royal Ascot and hopefully he can celebrate another winner here. This horse has shown he has a bit of class when winning the Silver Cambridgeshire last year. He made a pleasing return finishing third at Lingfield and he will come on for that. James Doyle is back on board here after winning his only previous ride on him and 12/1 is fair giving the Unknown’s regarding some of the market leaders.
The 7.10 is a cracking handicap hurdle for NH fans where the Gavin Cromwell trained Oscar Academy heads the market at 3/1.
I am happy to take a chance on CUNEO 12/1 EW here for the Henry De Bromhead team. This horse has lost his way as of late and continues to slide down the handicap. Cuneo is definitely capable of winning a race like this off his current mark and I’m hoping the return to good ground and the break will have done him the world of good. Blackmore takes the ride and he has to be worth the risk at a double figured price. I’m sure we will know our fate early.
TELL WILLIAM 6/1 NAP.
I have been waiting for this one to run after a pleasing return last time out. Tell William ran keen and wide on his return and still managed to stay on well finishing a never nearer 4th. He wasn’t asked a lot that day by Atzeni and I think that run would have put him spot on for this. Dwyer takes the ride and he is riding on the crest of a wave after Pyledriver’s victory and if he can get this horse a nice position early with plenty of cover I think he’ll prove very tough to beat.
