Unibet Thanks The Frontline Workers Maiden Stakes 1m 1f 219y- 13.00

Current favourite Mafia Power finished fourth at Newmarket in October and will look to build on that. The distance that day was 7f, this is a little more today.

But bringing a bit of flair is Latin Knight who made a promising start when runner up here on debut. Dropped slightly down the order at Southwell with the result of a slipped saddle but that can be excused. The second came over a longer distance so certainly won’t be disregarded here, the only factor worth noting is against this field he is carrying a little more weight.

Hold Fast will be one to keep tabs on, second last time out at Goodwood, had nothing to offer against the winner but has nine months off and has been documented as a stayer so a step up in trip should suit well and her experience should help in the run-in and carrying the least weight in this first race could play in her favour.

But my tip for this LATIN KNIGHT to edge it.

St Gallen scored with a brace over hurdles last May but has nearly been off track for a year and struggled when at this class in July. But since then he has had a wind operation and is brought back to this level so will be one to keep an eye out as a current market favourite.

But looking to conquer this race is the aptly named OLYMPIC CONQUEROR successful at 1m 2f and 1m 4f including a win on the Polytrack. Winning by a nose here back in February and with a 2lb rise in weight I don’t think we will see that stop him.

Unibet Handicap 5f – 14.10

Current market favourite GRANDFATHER TOM is one who doesn’t seem to mind breaks after winning after 6 months off last spring. He has 6 wins on flat out of 22 starts and with 8 months off this time I believe the experience will go in favour.

Notable contenders to look out for are Charming Kid, who ran a good race missing out by less than a length off the winner at this distance at Newcastle but has had 1lb dropped for that effort so this could easily play into the hands of jockey George Downing, and also Benny And The Jets, who is a familiar face around this track and is back to the same mark when beaten by a neck here at 6f in November.

British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes 6f – 14.45

The current favourite is the Archie Watson trained SCIENCE with last year’s champion jockey on board Oisin Murphy. The horse was bought at £170,000 and is a half-brother to Lady Desire, he has won at 6f twice and Watson has an excellent strike rate with 2-year-old newcomers and this foal ticks a few boxes.

Army of India and Host are two colts to keep an eye on in this contest with Army of India a dirt bred offspring of Sepoy, who could be ready to go for Mark Johnston and Host, costing £52,000 as a yearling and has connections to a Group placed horse.

With the current heatwave we are experiencing we are faced with a COLD FRONT during the week with this 3-year-old trained by William J Haggas. The selection was backed and looked a good outfit when beaten by a head by With Respect, it travelled strongly when in front and was caught only once close home, has lots more to offer.

City walk with Oisin Murphy on board trained by S bin Suroor has not been seen since finishing third of eight when beaten by 2l at 12-1 on his racecourse debut at Newmarket over 5f and is more capable going forward.

Meraas, half-brother to Global Hero won at 1m and 1m 1f, was beaten 1/2l when second of 11 at 11-4 on his racecourse debut at Wolverhampton over this distance in March and is also one to keep tabs on and looks sure to improve.

Unibet Extra Place Offers Everyday/British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes 1m – 15.55

Current market favourite FIRST RECEIVER earns the right to be topping the odds. The Sir Michael Stoute trained horse has had an encouraging third-placed finish on debut in a strong field at Newmarket. then runner up over C&D last time out. I believe we could see a Royal Triumph early on in the cards for the restart of racing.

Imrahor will look to improve and will hold nothing back when challenging tomorrow and was only a length away from glory on his debut so will hold claims.

Current Market favourite GALSWORTHY, trained by J H M Gosden with the ever-present Frankie Dettori on board, has placed in both starts. This horse is bred to stay this distance and I think will have enough class to claim its maiden victory.

The Glancing Queen makes her debut on the flat tomorrow who caught the eye when finishing eighth of 23 in the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham in March. The 6-year-old maybe one to keep an eye on down the line. I think the closest to challenge to Galsworthy will be Retrospect, trained by R Varian, this 3-year-old is related to several winners including half-brother Rip Van Winkle so has a superb pedigree and is definitely one to watch.

Unibet 3 Uniboosts A Day Handicap 1m 3f 219f – 17.05

Head of the betting at the moment is London Eye, trained by Harry Fry and ridden by the experienced Ryan Moore. He may have only had 6 starts and placed once, which was when last seen when finishing 5l behind Samba Saravah that was over 1m 4f at Newcastle last year and since then has changed stables, with Moore booked for this, it seems like a statement may be made.

But my pick is NED PEPPER, trained by A King ridden by Tom P Queally. This 4-year-old may have liked a slightly longer trip and the form may not be the most eye-catching against some of the rivals in this race, but has improved since going handicapping over this trip and finished 3rd over C&D when last seen in October. I feel has unfinished business so I am tipping Ned Pepper to each-way who is currently sitting 8/1 in the betting.

Unibet Extra Place Offers Every Day Handicap 6f- 17.40

The current favourite just now is ROCKETEER trained by M Murphy and ridden by Daniel Muscutt. The horse is a lightly raced but was a winner when driven out winning by ¾l and beating joint-favourite Rodney Le Roc at Wolverhampton, so I expect him to repeat that feat here.

One to keep tabs on is Sparkling Diamond for an each-way bet, currently at 16/1 with most bookies. The horse has ran 9 races and placed in 4 of these, was fourth of 8 in a handicap here last time out over 7f in March, and is wearing blinkers.
